I'm sure many of you have heard/read about the pre-E3 demonstrations and hands on impressions of Half Life 2 by now.

Is it just me or is the game losing it's thunder? I've heard most of the weapons and sounds are rehashed, and the screenshots don't look as amazing as they did when they first came out last year. Games like Fry Cry and the upcoming STALKER are very tough competition to beat and Half Life 2 doesn't seem like the revolutionary title that it looked before.

Or am I just worrying too much?

Nope. It'll probably be crap.

While I don't think it'll be crap, I will admit I am losing interest in Half-Life 2 (and Doom 3 for that matter). Last year it was the rage. But it's been delayed a full year, and now with Far Cry released and Stalker coming out this summer too, well... *shrug*

Though the gameplay videos of Half-Life 2 still look pretty amazing, especially the one with that huge War of the Worlds spider thing stomping around the city. The trick will be to see what kind of environment you get with Half-Life 2. If they can pull off a believable environment with this City 17, I'll be happy.

Ok, I just saw one of the E3 demos they showed for the game and I must admit, I'm excited again. :P

However I'm pretty aware that they ran it on the craziest system out there and that they handpicked the scenes. So here's hoping the game retains its gameplay and lives up to expectations.
