This happens every year of course. . . games scheduled for a holiday release just aren't quite ready and get bumped. While its dissapointing, its better than getting rushed, crummy versions of games.

Gamecube just bumped Pikmin back to May of 03, and Harvest Moon back to January 03. And I'd had money on Rogue Squadron being the first to get the bump (it just doesn't seem all that polished. . . at least from the demo; the way the out of vehicle characters control is awful.)

What games that you've been looking forward to for a holiday release have gotten pushed back so far? What games do you think will not make their anticipated releases?

I think that True Crime has been pushed back a couple of times. I can't wait for that one. Other than that I would bet money that Ninja Gaiden gets pushed. Although MS better hope it comes out by Xmas. The other one that will prolly get pushed back is Crimson Skies.

Heyyyy, this GD material right here, I say.
C'mon Mcfly, you let me down.

Quick edit your post!
Change the subject to: Rogue Squadron III GC release delayed until 2004, coming to XBox this holiday season instead!

Seriously though, Release Dates have been screwed up all year long. I swear 3 out of 4 titles that I'm looking at this year get moved as soon as I turn away - even if only for a moment! Wario World, F-Zero, Viewtiful Joe, KOTOR, DroneZ, Crimson Skies, Sudeki, and Halo on PC...

There are still SO MANY good games coming out (for sure... I think, I hope) this year that I really don't have a problem with them getting pushed back into next year.

Except that... now next year is starting to look like a problem - already!

Dead Or Alive 3 is really just Dead Or Alive 2 Even More Hardcore which was Dead Or Alive 2 Hardcore which was Dead or Alive 2 which was just a simple polish-job of Dead Or Alive. Dead Or Alive Online is just Dead Or Alive 2 and Dead Or Alive crappy graphics and all.

Pssst...here's another secret. You are a clueless, unintellectual bastard.

I just got my RS3 pre-order bonus disk today and I brought it home during lunch. I agree, the Hoth demo looks really sketchy right now, but this is a demo that has been around 6 months or so. If I'm not mistaken, this is the very same demo that was around during E3, so I'm hoping that it isn't a accurate representation of what RS3 currently plays like.

If anything, it is slated for a mid-October release, so if they do push it back a few weeks, they can still hit the holiday season in time.

1982 Star Wars Arcade certainly brought back a few memories.

I've got a clue for you...Lay off the pipe...you're at a standstill.

I'm not defending DOA3 anymore. YOu care giving it more praise and attention than it's worth. Go play Fantavision. Street Fighter 2 was really just SF1 with a few more characters right? So was Mortal Kombat 2, bleh...what a waste of time fighting games are.

Actually, SF1 was a completely different game in a completely different genre then SF2.

yea i know slade but it still had hadokens.

And I was kind of hinting at all the billons of revisions SF2 had...I honestly think if Capcom would have held out on releasing Super Street Fighter and gone directly for 3 things would be a LOT different nowadays. It blows my mind that SF3 is only available on Dreamcast.

Whatever. Super Street Fighter 2 could very well be the greatest fighting game of all time. So, in that case, I'm glad Capcom was cool enough to keep improving their game until it was nigh perfect.

Also, considering how long SF3 took to actually come to fruition, most SF fans would have lost interest and moved on if it wasn't for SSF2, SSF2T, SFA, SFA2 and SFA3.

Don't mess w/the best.

This is the same demo that I played a few weeks back, and then critiqued, remember? It was on/part of the new demo disc that was put into GC stations at game stores, along with playable demos of F-Zero, SCII, and 1080 Avalanche.

You'll remember too, that I was NOT impressed either.

Oh yes, I remember. And I hate like hells-fire to admit that you may have had a point, but you may have had a point.

But a demo is a demo for a reason. Because the true game is unfinished and the demo is there to tease us, even in it's unfinished glory.

Judging from the trailers for RS3, it has been smoothed out and polished up. And if not, then so be it. It will sell badly because it looks like crap, Factor 5 will start developing for Xbox and Xboyz will start their infernal bragging - despite having bashed the company for the aforementioned crappy looking title.

Or something like that.

2004 will be expensive. . . so much good looking to happen then. Killer 7, Doom III, Halo II, Metroid II, a new Zelda, Fable, Pikmin II, Crimson Skies, a new Oddworld, Resident Evil IV, Psychonauts; and that's just the titles I'm interested in. The big for-sure titles at least triple that. And I didn't even do any PS2 titles.

It isn't really a general discussion topic. . . I expected we'd get a comparision of what systems had what, and what was getting bumped, nad likely to get bumped, or comments like "well that game sucks anyway, so who cares if it is getting bumped.). And invariabely someone would sneak in some below the belt punches (as I see was eventually the case.) I just wasn't in the mood to start the thread on a war note.
