Is there a HALO "save game" crack?

Is it possible to enable a save game option through the console in HALO? Not having an anytime save game option is one of my biggest gripes. I have recently reloaded the game on a new comp and have just gotten to "Truth & Reconciliation". I found a Halo "savegame" zip on line but there was no explanation as to what it did.

Any help???
