It's console only this time, and it's planned as an "action game in the Deus Ex universe". Err..sounds...great. I just hope that this means that they can make another PC-only Deus Ex game that returns to what made the original so great.

As of press time, Eidos had not commented on the Deus Ex and Commandos spin-offs...I think Eidos is on a fishing expedition in the gaming world.

LOL Oh brother! I can just see it now... Denton in a third-person button masher!! The console players will gobble it up too, I bet. I agree, let them have their action game, and give us back our RPG.

I've got an idea! Let's sit back and laugh as the men in suits tear up and defecate on what was once an imaginative, creative, deep, involving and downright brilliant game.

Oh, and by the way:

"I simply don't understand the vitriol being directed at this title," read the post. "Personally, I think an action game set in the Deus Ex universe-- incorporating some of the ideals of emergent gameplay, utilizing simulated sandbox worlds, having diverse toolsets, including multiplayer--could be totally fun."

Yeah, fantastic. If that's what floats your boat then get on with it and have a ball. The problem is that that's most likely going to be the only new Deus Ex game that gets made. This is the direction the series is going. The vitriol is understandable since it basically constitutes raising the middle finger to the fans who bought and loved the game in the first place.

"We unified all the ammo because we didn't think keeping track of different ammo types was what made Deus Ex a great game. I don't understand the anger being expressed over this decision."

"I don't understand why people were so attached to the skills system. It was too complicated and inaccessible for the stupid kids. So we got rid of it."

"Our mantra in level design was 'smaller and deeper'. We wanted each level to be jam-packed with quests and characters, all in an area the size of a airplane bathroom. I don't understand the objection to this."

Yeah, Ion Storm and Eidos are really on-the-ball when it comes to Deus Ex.

First Interplay desecrated Fallout with that dumbass Brotherhood of Steel console game, now Eidos wants to defile Deus Ex. It's almost as bad as using Led Zep songs in a Cadillac commerical. Well, at least Alpha Centuari and Jagged Alliance 2- the best strategy games ever-have not been cheapened by lame spin-offs.
