I'm going to be building a new gaming rig within the next month (before the World of Warcraft open beta). I'd prefer an AMD chip - but which one? I want it to be relatively low-budget, keeping it under $200 w/ shipping.

Although the 64-2800 only runs at 1.8 ghz, its allows for a greater amount memory bandwidth w/ its builtin memory controller. Since I'll be playing a MMORPG, I'll need tons of FAST memory. I might be overclocking. Do you think it will outperform most of the other lower budget AMDs? If not, what would you suggest?

In my opinion you can't go wrong with an AMD64 chip, they're about the best bang for the buck you can possibly get nowadays. The only stipulation is that you won't be seeing quite what it's capable of til a few months down the road...but for the time being it's able to keep toe to toe with any of the current 32 bit processors.

my advice is spend a tad bit more, and get the amd 64 3200+ which is a much better chip. the best priced in its class, too.
