Well, it is the japanese website. Even without being able to read japanese, you can navigate the site easily enough, and it has some cool (but small) screenshots. Also, I new there was going to be a new purple pikmin, but I also saw a very small albino Pikmin with red eyes (that looked blind, or with the ability to see in the dark.) I'm dying to know what this pikmin's abilities are.

The new Pikmin won't have the daily time limit, looks to be a lot larger with more exploration, and features 2 player co-op mode. (and I think 2 player competition.)

Any Pikmin fans care to offer their opinions on these changes?

This is my #1 most wanted of 2004:

I'm pretty dang excited for this game to come out. Gameinformer online has a 17mb Pikmin 2 commercial to download. It's quite funny, actually.

Anyways, it appears that the purple Pikmin are extra heavy, so they will be used in lever type puzzles. The albino Pikmin appear to be poisonous. In the video, one of those huge beetles swallows up one of the albino Pikmin and it dies instantly.

I think the multiplayer will make this a great game. Pikmin is the closest console game equivalent of RTS. Being a fan of RTS games I like Pikmin. If the game featured online gameplay it could rank among the best like Warcraft 3.

But maybe Nintendo will be able to pull off a split screen multiplayer which of course is missing from RTS games on the PC. I'm excited about this one.

So many great Gamecube games, so little time...

or in my case,

So many great Gamecube games, so little money...

So very true.

You mean you don't dabble in the blackmarket enriched uranium trade? Quite lucrative, especially since you can't smoke up your own stash (unless you want to be able to see your ribs glowing through your chest in the dark.)

Thank you thank you thank you, finally basic plot in English.

Are there no other Pikmin fanatics? I can't believe the nintendo forum is so dead on this game. Shigeru hasn't thought up an idea this cool since the original Zelda (imo.) Sure it's a genre bender, but why else do we game on GC other than to experience stuff we can't find ANYWHERE else?

As good as the original Pikmin was, it seemed like a rough draft. . . new teritorry was opened with this hybrid RTS/Action blend, but there are obviously so many other angles to expore that a sequel here is anything but stale. I can't WAIT for co-op mode with this game. My fiance (wife in four more weeks) loves watching this game above all other single player games, and though playing stuff like Mario Golf with her is fun, I can't wait until we can both play our favorite game TOGETHER.

I'm excited for the Pikmin sequel for exactly the same reason - I'll get to play co-op with my fiance. The first time she laid eyes upon Pikmin, she fell instantly in love with it. And why wouldn't she? It's a hardcore RTS/Action/Puzzle game that looks highly colorful and cute. So while the hardcore RTS/Action/Puzzle aspect appeals to me, the design appeals to her.

Right now, this is the game I'm looking forward to the most - at least until the Metroid Prime sequel is out.

I think the RTS is a dangerous genre for gaming consoles. The 3 colors of Pikmin worked well in Pikmin. I'm curious how Nintendo will make more than 3 species of Pikmin controllable without becoming confusing. Without a keyboard and mouse they had better be innovative as all hell to impress me. Of course this is Nintendo we're talking about and they haven't failed to impress me yet.

I hope there is a lone super Pikmin who is a Jack of all trades in Pikmin 2. You know able to run faster than a speeding bullet, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Look up in the sky it's a bird, it's a plane, NO!!!! It's super Pikmin! He should be unlockable after you complete the game or something. Just my opinion......
