Please, I would love to know.

As far as "fighting styles" go, Virtua Fighter 4 has DOA3 beat left, right, front & center.

As far as "realism" goes, Virtua Fighter has DOA3 beat completely. You aren't going to see people falling from 1,000-foot cliffs and getting back up nor will you see people kicked out of a window, smash through a neon sign and land head-first into the pavement and keep fighting. I guess to "wrastlin' fans this is as realistic as someone jumping off the top rope, smashing someone in the neck and then the person getting punished gets up again, but to me it's bogus as hell.

The tunes in DOA3 are either techno-crap or tunes from washed-up Aerosmith The sounds of blows to you or your opponent sound straight out of a old chop-socky flick like Enter The Dragon. Oh, but they are in DD5.1 so that makes it all better, right?

The reversal system on DOA3 is a waste of time. I can just mash buttons and kick anyones ass. I can just use Christie, throw a few of her "poke-yer-eye-out" punches, follow up with a simple "special move" with the A-button and finally use the R-trigger for a kick. WOW-what great special maneuvers DOA3 has! And someone says that the special moves in SCII are useless? Hmm..at least it takes a little effort and skill with a controller to pull of specials in SCII and Virtua Fighter..and every other fighter out there. With the DOA games, just press one button and do the special! WOW!

The final boss in DOA3 is a friggin' joke. I love how he goes "WOOOOO!!!!" when you first see him turn around. And what a great, well-designed boss he is! A "big-guy" with a horned helmet and a wanna-be lightsaber! And how about the crappy-ass angle you fight at in the last match? You run toward the back of the screen. And to make up for a weak-ass boss with no special moves to speak of, when he hits you-you go careening about 30 feet! But I guess he IS better than the boss in DOA2. A big, flying tree-man with a Pinochi nose and cheap-as-hell moves.

The endings of DOA3 make about as much sense as TheMaskedGamer. For all the "supposed-power" of Xbox, why use pre-rendered CG? Hmmm...I especially love Christie's shower scene ending with the music going "Woo-hoo-woo-hoo!" And I'm sure she is so tough, she has tamed a unrealistic-as-all-get-out Cougar, right? he would just let her throw a towel on his head? O-K.....

The Dead Or Alive characters are all rip-offs of Virtua Fighters. Especially the old bastard and the drunken fighter. Gee...haven't seen these guys before!

Tomonobu Itagaki is not only a pervert, but an incestuous one at that! I love in his interview about DOA Volleyball how he says he feels the DOA girls are like his daughters. He must be a real freak to model butt-cracks, jugs, nipps and genital-regions in such detail for his daughters!

The only thing DOA has going for it over other fighters is graphical polish. But staring at panties and jugs gets old and the style can't compare to Soul Calibur II with it's awesome fantasy settings.

The best endings I've ever seen in a fighting game were the endings in Soul Edge. The game had multiple endings for each character and they were crafted using the in game engine. To this day, no other fighting game has ever had endings as compelling as the one in Soul Edge.

I thought a fighting game was supposed to be fun 78? So why are you ragging on DOA3 so hard? The game wasnt meant to be a realistic fighting game.Maybe the creators of VF4 was aiming towards a more realistic fighter, but that doesnt mean that DOA3 wasnt a fun fighting game to play either.

Plus all of the moves in VF4:EVO isnt all that spectacular either you know.I mean really the reversals on both games are easy to pull off.Plus we wont even go into how cheap Dural can be when it comes to ring outs.I mean DOA3 looks better than VF4 does and yes it does have better multiplayer features than VF4 does too.Yes VF4 is deeper as far as the learning curve goes and yes being able to unlock the old VF is another cool feature too.But the next DOA will be able to be played online and the next VF game has yet to be announced. To me the DOA series is being taken to the next level while the VF series is looking rather dated these days.

Plus like I said before why rag on the DOA3 endings? At least DOA3 had full motion endings.SC I and II didnt.Plus Shun DI and Brad from DOA3 both have killer drunken styles.Every fighting game takes something from the other.Thats to be expected.

DOA has appeal. To some they dont understand why.Well does it matter? The game has just that:APPEAL! VF4:EVO was a huge hit mainly because of the cheap price tag of 20 bucks. The truth.Yes the game is cool and all but lets face it just like DOA only a certain majority will flock to this game.78 you are being way to hard on DOA3.I mean its just a different type of fighting game than VF is.Then there is Tekken. Each game has its own style.Doesnt mean that one is totally garbage while the other is so rosey.Thats a load of bull and you know it.Each fighting game has its pros and its cons.VF4 isnt the best fighting game in the world. But its one of them.Same can be said about DOA3 too.

But at least the next installment of DOA is going to the next level by going online.Thats something that Tekken nor the VF series has yet to reach yet.

It seems like the thing to do these days-rag on a game just "cause."

If Daman & Tappy had actually played Soul Calibur II, they would know that the "floating whack rock" battlefields of SCI are gone. If they had actually played SCII, they would know that you can use walls to inflict extra damage to your enemy.

If they actually played SCII, they would know that the graphics are a big step-up from the original on Dreamcast.

If they actually played SCII, they would know that there are a dozen modes of play on the game.

If they actually played SCII, they would know that there are unlockable characters, arenas, weapons & modes.

But that's just it: They just spew crap from their cake-holes and don't know what they are talking about.

The only that I will disagree with you 78 is that IMO the DC's SC looks and plays better than this one does.Other than that I really have nothing really bad to say about SC II.It was a game made for the SC fans out there.Thats pretty much it.Plus Spawn to me isnt bad,but he couldve been better.I do like him being able to float in the air while shooting flames out his hands though. That works real good against Inferno.

Ya right gamer, DOA 3 beats every fighter in the graphics department, in every graphics deparment. And its fast, fun, downloadable content, enough modes, the only thing it lacks on is unlockable content, but IMHO, I think SSBM has that packed down the best out all the fighter series, even though I despise the GC...

Let me put this through my translator......... processing...... processing......

Graphics..... Graphics..... Graphics Graphics Graphics Graphics..... Speed... Graphics.... Graphics Graphics Graphics Graphics.

You get the gist.

Anyways, Namco and Sega don't even treat the DOA series as competition against their fighters. Otherwise, they would be trying to push the graphics boundary with their franchises. The mid 90's were full of these types of battles between Sega and Namco as each tried to outdo the other in graphics. The same is still true and nobody even cares that DOA3 has the best graphics.

so what's so great about DOA3? I dunno Geezer, why don't you tell me. You are the one posting abot a game that is nearly 2 years old.

DOA3 is a Xbox tech demo. No other fighting game(console or arcade) comes close to looking as good...sure, it might not be the deepest game in the world, but depth does not always equal fun IMO. I havent popped in DOA3 in months nor do I plan to but, sadly, SC2 only got about 15 mins of MY play time due to BORING characters, jaggies out the wazoo, boring backgrounds, generally ugly graphics, and lazy, still frame endings. SC2 = most overrated game EVER as far as I'm concerned. I guess I outgrew fighters because, honestly, the fighting genre is a thing of the past that never evolves...FPS is the future. I'll never understand how people can still play VF4, it's so frikkin ass ugly and plodding. At least DOA3's fighting styles flowed with grace and beauty something no other fighter can ever do.

Just cause all the pro reviews eat all this overrated Japanese crap up doesn't mean I have to agree. Nearly everyone on these boards act like thier opinion goes and if you disagree you are an idiot well, how about I call you people idiots for accepting such mediocrity?

SC1 for DC still looks better but what can you expect...when you throw a PS2 in the multiconsole port it's bound to turn out looking like ass.

Anybody want to know tier listings in Soul Calibur 2 can go here:

http://guardimpact.com/skill/study.php?edition=ranking_project_sc2

Now look at Soul Calibur's tier listings:

http://guardimpact.com/skill/study.php?edition=ranking_project

That is some massive changes in tiers. I had played once or twice with Yunsung and gotten my ass spanked when I tried to pull something original. Now I know why. Anything the guy does is punishable.

LOL right, bud, I examined both pics, and I have to say, even though your comparing Def Jam Vendetta's best to DOA 3's worst pic, DOA3 still comes out on top. Look at the faces and the clothing you Def Jam, their so plain and bland! DOA 3's are lush, detailed and much more MUCH more polished. I'm sure anyone, but Fragmastar can agree with me there.

Fragmaster, you need to lay off the pipe man! Comparing the best looking game on earth to an ugly EA jaggyfest proves ignorance.

Did I just say "best looking game on earth"? why yes, yes I did. Name a game that looks better. Go ahead and name off some other ludicrous crap if you wanna, but DOA3 annihaltes the competition in graphics...arcade or home...and it would take a true blind biased idiot to disagree with me there.

Yea, and dafunkdoc nailed it on the head...it's under 20 bucks now. 20$ for the best looking game on earth...only available on the Xbox! HAHAH!

Too bad it isn't also the best playing fighter on earth. So far, the only thing it can boast is that it looks good and that doesn't really matter to people that actually like substance in their games.

ntm the FACT that DJV is c-h-o-p-p-y when it's in motion. No one can judge DOA3 by a screen shot, it's smooth as amish butter.

The only people who respect DOA3 as a true fighting game are those who only play DOA3...or they're Xbots.

Trust me, DOA3 doesn't get respect where it counts. It pisses me off that the game is a rip-off of Tekken, and during gameplay, it's just too easy to counter. It's fun for about 10 minutes, and then it just irritates me.

First off you are indeed entitled to your opinion "Twelve".But for you to say that DOA is a rip off of Tekken is truly funny as well as untrue.

Last time I checked Tekken didnt introduce interactive backgrounds? Last time I checked Tekken was never a 3D fighting game until Tekken 4.
Last time I checked the DOA series has appeared on more consoles than Tekken has.

Lets see the DOA series has been on the PSX,the Dreamcast, the PS2,and the Xbox. And the Tekken series has just been on the PSX and two games on the PS2.So spare me the DOA is a Tekken rip off because its not.Name one thing that the DOA series borrowed from Tekken.Name one.

Plus you claim that its too easy to counter in DOA? LOL! And how easy is it to counter in Tekken with Paul? Or Nina? Or Jin? TOO EASY AS WELL! Besides changing up your attacks will cut down on the chances of being countered too. That goes for any fighting game.If this kind of thing irritates you then you need to get better at the game then.

DOA is a fine fighting game in its own right.Every fighting game has depth if you take the time out to learn everything about it.But to say that DOA is a Tekken rip off only shows that you truly dont know as they say"DICK!"

Plus you just gotta love Folken riding your"Banana Boat"on this.LOL! Like he actually knows everything there is to know about fighting games anyway.
