I thought RPG fans might be interested in this if they hadn't already heard of it. Sega and Atlus are teaming up for this reamke of the the Sega Genesis' original Shining Force. I don't know anything about this series of games (never played them), but apparently it was really popular. . . there were over ten games in the series, and Shining Force was the most popular of them.

This game is being recommended for fans of Fire Emblem and Advance Wars.

Ya, read about this. It's been many, many years since I've played it and I would love it to play it again, graphical updates and all. I'm surprised Gadfly that you've never played a Shining Force game. Not surprising though since there hasn't been one since 98's Shining Force III on Saturn (Shining Soul doesn't count, I don't consider it a 'true' shining force game).
It seems to me that the Final Fantasy series has overshadowed all the 'Shining' games (Shining in the darkness, Shining in the ark) but I consider this brilliant, brilliant series to be it's equal, and the Saturn installment 'Shining Force III Scenario 1' to be far superior than any Final Fantasy game. I'm sure those select few who got a chance to play it would agree that it is one of the greatest games ever. Blame the then Sega US head Bernie Stolar - rotten b*st*rd - that we never got Scenarios 2 & 3 localised into English. Fingers crossed they get remade someday, that would be too sweet!!! :D :D
