EA, as has been observed several times is the brand extension king and thats no good thing. Evidence of this wait for it they're... they're ....I can't bring myself to talk about the horrible licence extortionists, they are my preciouses  . Gollum, its the sequel to the classic, Goldeneye or as they have (intuitively) called it Goldeneye2.

Now this wouldn't annoy me if it wasn't for the fact its not the original developers who are developing the title (no not Rare, but Free Radical). Its being developed in-house by EA LA and will be multiformat. All I can say is I hope the official EA forum can capacitate the amount of scorn/hatemail that they will undoubtedly recieve.

I've heard about this and I can't believe that Rare is just going to let them capitalize from Goldeneye. Even though EA now has the license for 007, it seems to me that a lawsuit will soon be in the works.

This is just really, really, really uncool of EA. The game will be multiplatform of course. There really is no possible way for it to succeed the way Goldeneye did. Goldeneye was the first FPS to use the telescoping sniper rifle sight which has been copied by pretty much EVERY single FPS since. Goldeneye was the first FPS game to have 4 person multiplayer (I think) which has also been copied by pretty much EVERY single FPS since. So what I'm getting at is that I don't really think it's possible to be as revolutionary as Goldeneye was to the FPS genre.

This seems like a real cheap shot to me. I can't believe someone at EA actually approved this game. (Unless the whole thing is just a horrible rumor that some jack @$$ started).

I think you guys are overreacting. I am willing to give EA a chance. It is better to have it some than not having it at all, right? Even if Golden Eye 2 turns out to be sucky, how is it going to hurt people's fond memory of the original?

I'll tell you what is an invitation for doom. Marvel vs EA. That game is going to suck. I am 200 percent sure.

That is an easy win for Capt. America. All he has to do is to throw hamburgers at Madden and give him a heart attack. :)

But really, what kind of fighting game is this going to be? I am too scared to think about it.

A new Marvel Vs.Capcom would've been cool, but against EA? This makes no sense at all.As far as Goldeneye 2 goes? I doubt it'll scratch the surface like the original did.If the PS2's and Xbox's versions has online support then both versions should sell just fine.

We'll see if EA gets it right.I doubt it though.

LOL, yeah, I'm not looking all that forward to it either. I think at best, we might get something like Def Jam Vendetta which would be a complete farce since Marvel's superheroes would seem out of place in a ring.

Just who exactly do EA have to make a fighting game? Owell, I'll just wait for SF4 in 2008...still far far away..

Yes, another Capcom vs Marvel would be cool but it doesn't seem like that is going to happen in our life times.

Considering that EA have signed a publishing/distribution agreement with Free Radical Design - developers of Timesplitters 1& 2 and made up of ex-members of the Goldeneye creative team (Free Radical head David Doak even features as a scientist in Goldeneye) - for the release of Timsplitters 3, it would have made perfect sense to get them onto developing Goldeneye 2 and give us an EA published Bond 007 game that ISN'T complete horse***t.
(No, I didn't like Everything or Nothing).
But noooo, they've got EA LA (developers of Rising Sun / Pacific Assault) on the job. And will undoubtably taint the good name of Rare's FPS masterpiece. Losers!

And as for Marvel vs. EA. Well, since Capcom don't seem to have anything to do with it, who cares? The same dummies that lap up every piece of EA crap will go for it, and everyone else can go on ignoring it. Which you should. Ok?

I actually kinda like Everything or Nothing. I have a thing with the 3rd person shooter now. Especially the ones that are somewhat similar to Kill Switch.

EA is really not all that bad. It might not have the talents it needs for fighting games, but I really enjoy games like Def Jam, NFL/NBA street, SSX3.
