Just out of interest, apart from the admittedly weak analitical nature of IGN and Gamespot. :(

What gaming publications do you read that actually influences your purchacing of a game and do you find it at all reliable? I personally purchace EDGE magazine which recommend people in this post take heed of as it has never failed me in my decisions.

I just got a subscription to Computer Games. It seems pretty good. As you can expect though it's strictly PC gaming.

My favorite online website is Game Revolution. I think their reviews are better than Gamespot and the others. IGN is cool too I guess...

I get PSM and PC Gamer. Not really for buying games, but just something to read.

The three game magazines I subscribe to are Game Informer, Play, and Nintendo Power. Nintendo Power sucks, kinda like the official Xbox magazine does. . . but at least xbox magazine has a demo disk every month, so I'm thinking of subscribing just for that.

Play is the coolest game magazine I've seen, and Game Informer is the most, well, informative of the multi-system mags (EGM is pretty good, but I just buy it once in awhile.)

(Non gaming magazines I subscribe to: Atlantic Monthly, Harpers, The New Yorker, American Scholar, FHM, Free Inquiry, American Prospect, and The Sun.) I occasionally buy issues of Utne Reader, Shambala Sun, Mother Jones, Penthouse, and Wired.

EGM is the only one worth a crap anymore IMO, Next Gen was awesome, but it folded, as did my other fav, Die Hard Game Fan.
