PS2 freezes up

My favorite sports game (NHL2002) has started to freeze up when I get to the third period. I hade to send in my playstation once to get repaired but now I'm thinking it might be the game itself. All my other games work fine but NHL 2002 is still the best hockey game by far (2004 blows!). Anyone had any similar problems???

I've had no such problems. Maybe if you turn your PS2 upside down. Wait... No. That won't work. How about blowing into the cartridge....No. That's not it either. Press play on tape. Nope. That won't help.

If your system's not broke don't fix it. It plays other games fine. Take the game back to where you got it and say it's defective. Most people will be sympathetic to your plight.

Go out there and do us proud. You can do it. The power is within you, Chosen One.

As you could tell I am a PS2 newbie. Now that I've done some research the grasshopper understands. I think I'll snatch the pebble and go back to pc games.

I hope I did not offend you, Grasshopper. I agree that there are some games that can't be played on a console. PC games are great, especially if you have enough money to buy the biggest and best gaming hardware. I Love PC games! But I'm not a snob about it. I hate it when someone says, "I refuse to play console games because they are so inferior <sniff>"

More than likely it's something in the code, but it wouldn't hurt to clean it now and then. The lense can be pretty sensitive. So a can of say Beseler compressed air and a $10 disc cleaner from Gamespot can save you some headache and frustration down the road.
