Ok, silly question time & one for the nostalgia buffs. But who wouldn't just die if the much-awaited sequel to the game of 2003 was called Super Metroid Prime!!!
Same goes for the Gamecube successor. To hell with mimicking boring old Sony and calling the next Nintendo home console 'Gamecube 2'.
I wanna play games on my SUPER GAMECUBE!!!
Currently Playing
Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Megadrive)
Puyo Puyo Tsu (Saturn, Import)
Puyo Puyo Sun (Saturn, Import)
Puyo Puyon (Dreamcast, Import)
Puyo Pop Fever (GC)
hint: Puyo Puyo Rox!!!

With games like Half-Life 2,DOOM III,and Halo 2 on the way Metroid Prime 2 is going to have some stiff competition awaiting it.If I had to decide on a title it would be more like this:Metroid Prime:The Adventures Of Samus Aran.Or another one:Metroid:The Reserrection Of Samus Aran. Something of that nature.

The "Super" in Super Metroid came from the "Super Nintendo Entertainment System." Much like the "64" in Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64 on the "Nintendo 64."
So calling it Super Metroid 2 or whatever would be just silly IMO. Metroid Prime is a sweet name and it's going to be difficult to top. But we still don't know if the next Metroid game is even going to appear on the Gamecube anyway.
I think the Nintendo N5 is a great name of a console. (It's the 5th Nintendo console so far). But that's just a code name for it much like the Dolphin was the codename for the Gamecube. I doubt the Gamecube's successor will be called the Gamecube 2.

Methinks the 'Super' goes waaay back, circa 1984 or whatever when the old Mario Bros. game was transformed into a side-scrolling platform game , obviously 'Super Mario Bros.'
And, come on, just imagine the marquee at E3 with a 40 foot Samus Aran and the words, SUPER METROID PRIME. That's the buzz, that is!!

I guess that would be pretty sweet. I think the game would be better off without the word "Prime" in it though. Unless of course you have to fight another phazon infused Metroid Prime...

I could see it being called "Metroid Squared" or "Metroid Cubed" to go along with the whole mathematics theme. Either way, it is probably my # 1 most anticipated title.

Keep in mind that the only info we have is from Retro Studio's website that says:
"We are now working hard on a sequal to our first title METROID PRIME."
Everything else at this point is just a rumor. So don't be surprised if the game doesn't even appear on the Gamecube...

Don't say such things!
I bet that we'll see a Metroid Prime sequel on the Cube sooner than we'll see a Zelda sequel on the Cube.

If there is a sequel to Metroid Prime on the Gamecube, I have but one request:
I want to see more of Samus Aran that just a shot of her head.
;) I suspect that underneath that phazon infused power suit of hers, she's wearing some sexy lingerie... ;)
