I had a thoght and wondered if anybody else would agree with it. I personally think it would be smarter for Microsoft to put out a new system and continue to support the old one at the same time. If everything is going to change with the Nextbox why not just release it and gain new gamers. Don't call it Xbox2 come up with a new name and set it apart from the old consule. I could see this as a way to make everyone happy. They can make new games for the Xbox for years and put out games for the new system and recoop there losses. They could cut producton on systems down to a couple thousand systems a year (for XB1) and still continue to get buyers. Playstation has proven that it can be done. Hell if the next system is advertised as something new they are guaranteed a sales boom. There really is nothing wrong with the XB1 were they can not keep it running for years down the road and not improve upon there success rate. They could make a SH!#-load of money and right the system off as a success. I myself would support two different systems. Xbox could afford to keep customers happy and it would be a hell of a PR boost. No body really knows what is going to happen to XB1 when XB2 comes out but it could still could compete with the other two systems and make money. This would be a way to shut me up and make me happy and I am not the only one. Tell me if you agree and your thought's of if you think it would work. I think most people would agree with me that this would be the best thing that could happen to Xbox and a major PR boom for MS!!! :D

Nobody would buy games for the Xbox if the Xbox 2 is already on the market. The PSX has managed to release a few games a year even with the PS2 only because the PSX and PS2 (which is compatible with the PSX) have an unusually large userbase. I doubt the few PSX games that have been released in the past few years have made a significant amount of profit.

Well first, Apocalypse, when you type the amount you just did, its hard to stay on track, so next time space out your writing and use paragraphs, trust me it helps, I used to make the same mistake all the time, so don't worry. ;)

In terms of your thread, yeah, I guess I agree, however I think in order for MS to start getting more money when XB2 comes along, is to make sure that the second Xbox will be backwards compatible for XB1 games.

I really hope it goes the way of backwards compatibility that is one of my big concerns for the next system. I have rannted about it before because I feel any system from this point forward that doesn't do it is going to hurt them selves in the long run.

I can concur with you but it would be cool to have MS put out two systems and continue to support the Xbox. I don't see it happening but if MS makes a new system and it is nothing similar to the Xbox with no HDD or backwards compatibility, different controller, and now flash memory. It will not be Xbox 2 it will be a new system. It could suceed on its own and Xbox could stick around a few more years for the hell of it. If a normal consumer heard about a new system from MS without the Xbox name they will still buy the hell out of it. Most consumers will say OHH!!!! another game system and buy it just because its something new. Xbox really does not even have to continue system production they just need to continue game production and make alittle money from games. It would not hurt them at all.
