Over the next few months I can promise you one thing; we will all be hearing a lot of details regarding Resident Evil 4 (RE4). Capcom showed the game off at a Capcom event a month ago and dropped the jaws of everyone. There is one catch though; no one can talk about it due to a Non Disclosure Agreement(NDA) everyone at the event had to sign. In just a few short weeks the NDA will expire and it will be fair game for journalists everywhere.

Due to the NDA, information regarding the game has been very tough to come by. The most recent issue of the Japanese publication Dorimaga revealed a few more tid-bits about RE4 through an interview with the game's developer. Below are a few details:

* RE4 is being lauded as a totally new game in the series; this episode is so scary that even the developers themselves are scared.
* The times when pre-rendered movies cost so much money is now over; everything in the game is displayed using the in-game engine.
* Umbrella has been destroyed, but that isn't to say it doesn't have any relation to the story.
* Since we were aiming for a totally new Biohazard, we didn't want to be restrained by the story so far.
* The game went down well in Las Vegas. Many people were surprised and are still looking forward to the game.
* We haven't changed our GC-exclusive stance. There is no chance of this game being ported to any other consoles this generation or next. They claim that PS2 could not handle the graphics.

There was a lot of speculation and conjecture as to the status of RE4 remaining a Gamecube exclusive by quite a few Xboyz® around here. So yeah, it was Xbots making ridiculous rumors or something.

I don't actually own an Xbox, but I do own a computer that I play games on. So it's kind of like owning an Xbox, but better in every single respect.

I don't ever recall hearing an XBOT report the RE franchise was coming to XBOX. I've never heard that around here, I have heard PS2 fangirls gleefully celebrating RE was coming to PS2. Personally, after I played RE Code Veronica on Dreamcast I was very disappointed, and have no further interest in that franchise. But, if they've turned it upside and re-invented it that's good, this is what they need to do with the majority of these Japanese franchises, step into the new age.

I mean lets face it,if Capcom decided to bring RE4 to the PS2 as well as the GC Capcom would've made so much more off of the game.Let us not forget that it was Sony and the PSX that put the Resident Evil franchise on the map to begin with.

I never denied that you said positive things about Ninja Gaiden.I simply pimp slapped you for saying negative things about it.And I did it in killer fashion too.Besides so far this year Ninja Gaiden has received the best review of any game on any console.So far it appears that the game indeed is living up to the hype.This game definately will be a serious contender for GOTY.No ifs,ands,or buts about it.

Think about it.Every single franchise that made its debut on the classic NES console has been seen on other consoles over the years with the exceptions of Mario,Metroid,and Zelda.

What you said is totally reasonable and makes perfect sense. But like I said in another thread, we offered to chip in and buy him a GC. . . and he claimed to not even want one for free. Having a favorite system is one thing, but claiming you love games but hating one system with such illogical fervor that you wouldn't play it for free---I'm not even going to say what I think of that. It boggles the mind though.

In addition to those exceptionally excellent games you mentioned, there are other games in genres that "evolution" claims to enjoy that also happen to be the cream of the crop of this generation, like Ikaruga, F-Zero, Viewtiful Joe, Metroid Prime, Zelda WindWaker, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 0.

I think Beach Spikers Vollyball is a great exclusive overlooked Nintendo game too. Add that to your list. BSV is better than DOA:XBV any day of the week.

It will not be the revolutionary game fans expect, nor will it ever reach the standard-setting performance of RE2 on PS1.

RE4 may as well end up as a disappointment like RE1 remake and the other REs that made it to the gaycube.

Capcom has better and more refreshing franchises with Onimusha and DMC.

RE4 may as well end up as a disappointment like RE1 remake and the other REs that made it to the gaycube.

Actually both of those RE's were really good. Your the only one disappointed and thats probably because you've never played them.

Ritchie loved resident evil on PS1, but he hates "gaycube" for some reason, probably because his parents won't buy him one because they already got him a PS2. Remember Aesop's fable about the fox who keeps trying to get these grapes, but he can't jump high enough to get them off the branch, so he finally gives up saying "those grapes where probably sour anyway?"

Ritchie responded because he DOES care--but the RE (and other GC) games are the grapes he can't jump high enough to reach. Who could have loved Capcom's RE and not thought Remake was the bomb, and not be drooling over what they are doing to RE4? The boy is transparent.
