The saga of my old PC, [now in the hands of my young nephew: the "click addict"], continues.

"Q": When warm[re]booted yesterday, I got the following message : "Bad or missing Interpreter, enter name of Command Interpreter..."
What is this about?

The system has experienced OS hanging on boot up recently, which I thought I had cleared by cleaning up system[scan/defrag] & eliminating 16 of twenty programs from start up menu.

While OS no longer hangs, this message is a new one to me. I never had these problems when I had possesion of PC in question, I suspect its my nephew screwing things up.

Here's something to try E.T.
It could be that command.com is corrupted.
Do you have a boot disk for the computer? If you do,....

Boot your computer with the startup disk. *This startup disk MUST be the same version as the computer you are trying to fix.* Once booted, from the A:\> prompt type in SYS C: and press enter.
If things go correctly you will see "System transferred". Remove the floppy and restart the computer. If that doesn't do it then it is another problem.
