XFX Geforce FX 5200 128 PCI Problems :(

Hello Everyone - New to all this :)
I have just bought and installed with the correct driver this card (tried a few differnt ones)....Only problem is for some reason my sound keeps going off.....Very bad during Team Fortress and Counter Strike as you can't hear the people sneaking up on you!
I have reinstalled my old 64 mb tnt card and the sounds now fine...Should I take the 128mb back? I have a 1.8 p4 with xp adn I feel I have tried everything....Please help :(

Could be an IRQ conflict..though those are really rare nowadays, specially with XP.

Also, are you know if you're using a Via mobo? I'm not too sure that this will apply to the P4's, but if you are you could always try and get the Hyperion (4-in-1's) off of Guru3D.com. I remember reading that you get some funkiness when using a creative soundcard, an Nvidia graphics card, and a Via chipset together...if you do have one then the hyperions should fix you up.

If not...we'll try something else.
