NPD's Top 10 for January

NPD Funworld has released its list of the top selling titles for the month of January.
The top 10 are:

NFL Street - PS2
Sonic Heroes - GC
Need for Speed Underground - PS2
NFL Street - Xbox
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! - GC
Grand Theft Auto Double Pack - Xbox
Halo - Xbox
True Crime: Streets of LA - PS2
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 - PS2
SOCOM II: Navy SEALs - PS2

NFL Street was the big selling for the past month, selling over 331,000 units, while Sonic Heroes for the GameCube trailed behind at 199,000 units.





I don't know why they did not include all the numbers. Sorry about that.

No huge surprises here: another big selling Sonic title for GC, another big selling mulitiplat by EA for PS2 and Xbox, GTA and Halo.

March is going to be one hell of a month for the Xbox,the PS2,and the GC.Like you said P.O.D.no real surprises here.I'm actually still surprised Halo is still selling on the Xbox.Even after a two year stint.Incredible.

I wanted to point that out, but I did not want anyone to say that I was kissing Master Chief's arse. What was the album that was in the top 100 for a ridiculous amount of time? I think it was Dark Side of the Moon. It is getting to be awesome.

Does this list include the PC too? Because if it does, that might account for Halo being in the top 10 - aside from it being one of only 4 worthwhile games for Xbox.

PDO, Otogi, the ESPN games, Morrowwind, Rallisport Challenge, Moto GP 1&2, JSRF, DOA3, and let's throw on Ninja Gaiden shall we.

and add a few more...Buffy, Metal Arms, SSX3, PGR, GTA:2Pack, POP, Rainbow Six 3, Soul Calibur 2, DoA3, RTCW, Tiger Woods, and Tony Hawk, ...(gotta include the best versions of cross console releases too)

Oh you guys! You should know by now that multiplatform titles don't count! So that brings your two combined lists down to 9 games. You got me. There are 9 worthwhile games for Xbox :p

and add a few more...Buffy, Metal Arms, SSX3, PGR, GTA:2Pack, POP, Rainbow Six 3, Soul Calibur 2, DoA3, RTCW, Tiger Woods, and Tony Hawk, ...(gotta include the best versions of cross console releases too)

because my favorite console only has like 30 worthwhile games. Hell, that's more than the GC has in its whole library right?LOL

You said WORTHWHILE games. Worthwhile is a pretty subjective term. I think that multiplats can certainly be worthwhile especially when they are better on the box. Yup it is totally in the eye of the beholder. You and I could be standing together looking at a bucket of crap, and you might think that it is worthwhile. Who am I to judge? In fact, you prolly would think that the bucket of crap looked good because you are a GC fan afterall :p
