Well, I try to not reading into the story too much. That would only spoil the fun. But I think this game is going to be great. Is this game the last installment in the series? It would be so cool that we see Wesker in this game with some matrix moves like he did in code veronica.

Well, there hasn't been much revealed about the story except for the general plot points. Usually, an RE game does go a bit deeper then just the general plot.

Right now, the fanbase is really divided over whether this game will be great or will suck. Some people didn't want the changes they've implemented.

I'd just like to add that screen shots don't really do NG justice. The graphics look nice a crisp and all, but they look too static and not "ninja-action-like." To really get a picture for what NG will look like you should really look at movies of the game.

RE4, on the other hand, has a slower pace and therefore more looks appealing (to me anyway) in screen shots. But I haven't seen any gameplay movies so it's hard to compare the true graphical potential of each.

The RE shots were photos of a magazine then scanned. Those images were worthless. I had to go with NG due to having reasonable shots to look at. The best had to be when the camera flash over saturated the images.

When you are the fan of a game, any early shots are treasured.

I'm going to say RE4 because one of the gameplay details about this game is that it features completely open levels. Not too concerned with the super old Ninja Gaiden titles in the N. Gaiden game.

BTW, I've read various sources that say that GI's hands on mentions the controls being changed to a more Devil May Cry like setting.

Yeah, you gotta use some imagination there. One thing though, there are RE images except that all of them are practically useless at this point because all of the old ideas have been scrapped and the graphic engine has gone through a little overhaul in the year or so since those first images were released.

So far I'd have to say The Suffering looks to be one hell of a"Kool-Aid"fest next to RE4.The Silent Hill series has always been graphic but not really a "Kool-Aid"fest like the others.

I saw the trailer and while yeah, it's spooky, it's also reminiscent of previous Silent Hill games. RE, this time seems to be doing something about the one aspect that everybody has always criticized the Survival Horror sub genre for, the gameplay.

I think the Resident Evil series has been played-out. IMO, they shoulda stopped with part two. Nemesis was total asshair. The re-make was nice blast to the past with purtier graffix, but only part I and II were worth my cash. I guess I'm more of a Silent Hill type of guy, except for part three which was also asshair. Hmm, R.E. III sucked, Silent Hill III sucked, Terminator III sucked, The Godfather III sucked, maybe I just don't like threes. But I liked Mario III, and Ninja Gaiden III.

If the gameplay to RE IV is amped up, then won't that make more of an action-horror game than survival horror?

Does anyone play these games for shock value? That's why I enjoy them more than most(esp. Silent Hill I, II), because of the wack-job of a story that get's into your skull if you let it, and I do.

I actually liked RE3, much better then RE1 in any case. It still ranks as one of the better RE games IMO. Especially the choose your own path type scenarios it took.

Edit: I'm actually glad Capcom is doing something with the gameplay. The SH genre has become somewhat limited because of the control scheme. If RE4 can do something about this and still keep the atmosphere then I welcome it. Watch as everybody else starts copying RE again if Mikami's successful in revamping the game.

As far as spooky goes, I think Fatal Frame 2 is the best so far. About RE's gameplay, I never really had any problem with it. All the critism about how people have problems moving around and stuff or seeing things is just bogus. No one I know have any problem with it. Only a few whiny cry babies on this board have I heard about RE's "broken" gameplay. That is like complaining about how you can only play games in the 1st person point of view in FPS games. It really is nothing but a gigantic waste of time. That is how survial horror gameplay is like and that is probably how survival horror's gameplay is going to be like. Moving in such manner defines survival horror, so people should just learn to deal with it.

I've played Ninja Gaiden on the OXM and the Game looks and Plays awesome the camera is kind of funky almost Survivor horrror esque. But the Speed and interaction with the enviroment are top notch. Idont think Re is going to have the same level of envrionmental interaction.

Yeah but it can be an unfair comparison, you wouldn't compare Windwaker to say...... Halo would you? Both awesome games, but the graphics are totally different. Though NG and RE4 may not be that extreme, you get my drift, don't you? Different genres allow for more or less flexibilty with graphics (I think).

Then why put Ninja Gaiden vs. PoP. The art styles in both games are completely different. You'd be better off comparing NG with Soul Calibur 2 in that regard. But whatever, actually, you did raise a good point here. Which is more to your liking, realistic graphics like RE4's or the more cartoony visuals of N. Gaiden?
