okay i know playstation is old n sony isnt making any more new games for it but playstation is still a good console with great games. too bad sony isnt making any more. So which game was the best ever playstation game???

IMO the best PS1 game(s) is Final Fantasy 7.....and Suikoden!
These games were even better than their own sequels which later appered on the PS2!

Here are some other sweet titles for PS1:

Resident Evil (Check out the GameCube version, it is amazing,the visuals are
simply breathtaking,
Fade to Black
Elundra
Final Fantasy 9

Now i know it has been out for a long time and had no end of errors with it. But i have to say it is great i love playing it. there may not be lots to do but it does feel very fresh an exciting. now i know lots of people will disagree. but it is just the first in the story. i recon this one sertainly promises for better ones to come :cool:

I would put RE2 over RE for the simple reason that RE2 was just so much better. RE was more atmospheric but the controls for RE2 were much more responsive and that made the gameplay smoother. Story was about equal between the two but what puts RE2 over the top is the multiple scenario option where you had to complete the game four times to see everything.

I loved Legacy of Kain:Blood Omen. Definitely the best of the series. Fei Victus.

How about a little game called Syphon Filter. For it's day this was one of the greats.

Wow...I thought I was the only person in the world who played (and liked) Fade to Black (aside from the Metallica song). That was one of the old old old original titles. And of course nobody has probably ever played these, but I have to say King's Field and King's Field 2. Those were some hardcore First-person-real-time-RPG's. From Software has a fan for life.

Digimon (The first, the rest of them blew.)
Syphon Filter (The new Syphon filter is at the top of my list for games to buy.)
Twisted Metal (The first only.)
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2
Metal Gear Solid (Thats right not "Twin Snakes", the original.)

I agree with whoever said that suikoden and FF7 own, but there are so many good games not being mentioned here it's disgusting. Oh, and most of the other games that are mentioned are pretty mediocre. Why would anyone say that RE2 was better than the original? That's completely insane. Even with the difficulty cranked up it was a quick win whether or not you wanted to beat four times four different ways didn't make it any better. Diablo for ps was better than blood omen by far, and way less sluggish, and if you ask me blood omen was a rip off of soul blazer, still blood omen is at least one of the better games. Here are the games which I think top most of the faves here:
Persona and Persona 2: some of the most different and difficult rpgs out there, and there both really great
Xenogears: who doesn't like martial arts and big robots? Lots of secrets and an interesting combat system make this game great
Star Ocean 2:lots of endings, excellent combat system, and the best use of a skill system in a console rpg
And lastly... WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU PEOPLE THINKING NOT INCLUDING SYMPHONY OF THE NIGHT!!!!!

I'm sorry if I have offended anyone, but my life is video games, and I was dissapointed in what I found here.
