...a Game Cube & a few games to get my nephew started [he's been wearing out his old N64 games].

I know you guys have the latest info on "where to go" for best buys.
I started to surf for a good package on line, but hoped to buy it locally, like @ Costco, Tartget, Best Buy or some major retailer like these. I listed some specific info below, so maybe you know of a Package Deal that would fill our needs/wants.

"Q's":
[1] Pricewise, is it better to buy the console on its own, & then shop for best deals on games? [got a link?]

[2] We need two controlers, how many come with standard unit?

[3] Do prices ever come down on older games for GC? My nephew wanted Star Fox [it IS old, isnt it?] & its still priced @ $50, what gives?

[4]Another "must have" to start out with is Rogue Squadron, its supposed to be the sequel to N64s' first offering. [links appreciated].

Thanks for the help!

PS...I just returned to edit this post after surfing for games, what do you think of HALO? Screen shots look awesome, hows the gameplay?

I think that your best bet would be to go onto ebay. They have a ton of combos that include extra controllers(newer systems come with only one), games and other cool stuffs.

As for the prices dropping on GCN games, Nintendo seems to be the only company that doesn't have some sort of "greatest hits", so their games seem to be more expensive. Once again, ebay is the best solution. I just scored me Eternal darkness for twenty bucks, and at my local retail store, it still costs fifty bucks! Ebay is also a safe place to shop, as long as you check out the sellers' feedback ratings. But then again, maybe you don't shop online...

Be weary of Costco, and the like, as they tend to be the last to know about price drops for systems, but they do sell package deals.

Wait until September, as the Cube is rumored to be going down to $99 American. You'll need to purchase an additional controller, so get a Wavebird for $30 - it's worth it.

Also, look around Gamestops, as they seem to have the lowest prices on games, I bought Eternal Darkness there for $15 - new. Best Buy is also pretty decent, they were selling Rogue Leader for $20 a while back. Target has good clearance deals as well, I bought Resident Evil there for $15 - new.

In other words, shop around, and you'll come out with the best deals.

That's incorrect. Nintendo has a "Player's Choice" line of older games that sell for $30, which isn't as good as $20, but it is much better than $50.
