Asking for a spoiler here... how do you release Halaster in NWN Hordes? Please don't tell me it involves the magnifying glass, that I don't think I have anymore.

Nathyrra is the key to releasing Halaster. I can't give you a lot of info since I haven't played the game, but I did find a walkthrough.

Oh am I in trouble. She died so often while I tried I finally let her die. Hopefully I have a recent save where she is alive. If not I'm giving up. I just don't think I can play through it again.

Don't totally give up. Unless it's a glitch in the game, I would think Nathyrra could be resurrected somehow? Try checking the forums on this Hordes website. http://nwn.bioware.com/underdark/

All is ok now. I did find an older save game with her that was fairly recent. And then I figured out how to release Halaster. Sometimes we overlook the most obvious things --LOL!

That fight was a very hard fight and she was useless. Also, while she does advance in the plot with you, she isn't actually necessary to release Halaster as far as I can tell. Thanks.

Cool! Glad you didn't give up.

The walkthrough does say that you will encounter Nathyrra at a certain point when she will give you advise and help you fight the drow to release Halaster.

I don't want to spoil the game for you so if you want more info, let me know.

I was going to say I never played a NWN adventure yet where I was bottlenecked into a dead-end. Baldur's Gate was another story though.
