Feedback/Discussion re: videogamereview.com

I watched a magazine show last pm, it featured the CEO of the Segway, the human transport device. This brilliant [to me] innovator/designer/thinker of all things tech pointed out one facet about people..."there are givers & there are takers".

I've been a member of this site [including old board history] for nearly four years now, seeking technical info, entertainment & camaraderie here, stuff thats relative to gaming. Mostly, I'm a taker here. This new vBulletin forum format has encouraged me to "take" even more by increasing the visibility of other boards available to me, making them easier to access. I "take" on a regular basis @ the PC boards. Some of the regulars there are pretty sharp & experienced with PC tech there, so I take.

The fact this site is FREE is not lost on me. I know also its private property. So now I "give", a few bucks spent @ this sites sponsors, & I "give" a little respect to the wishes of administrator & his request for civility when I post here. After all, Im taking at someone elses expense!

Thanks for the site guys! ;)

I appreciate you taking the time to "give" thanks. There's been a number of people who have been "giving" us grief for wanting to clean things up a little bit. We're confident that any changes we make won't affect the spirit of the board, but instead will make more people want to come in and be apart of the community.

The Administrator of another site I frequent often reminds those who post ..."This is NOT a democracy, you are our guest here, & you get no vote on the matter".....a little rough, but the man gets his point across. I dont believe the sites performance [hits] has suffered from the enforcement of said policy, but rather, as Chris stated "made more people want to come into the community.

Last week a compromise was made reagrding posting parameters here @ videogamereview. A decision was made [after some protested ] to continue the "System Wars" board here. I call that "GIVING" on the part of the Administrator.
Hopefully, we wont "Take" advantage of this offering by posting in the extreme...instead, just "Give"[post] good debates [w/a little humor ofcourse] for all to share.

Everyone,

Just to put in my two bits...

E.T. speaks my sentiments exactly. Although I have been quite vocal about certain configuration issues and features of the new board, I am incredibly impressed and grateful for the fine work that Lara, Chris, and others do to keep the board (and VGR) running smoothly. Coming from a systems consulting background myself, I recognize that it is not often to have a system the size of VGR with the consistency, performance, and reliability that we get every day. My hat is off to you folks for a job continuously done well.

RH.
