Just about every Final Fantasies... especially Final Fantasy X-2, a game that's a little humorous. Also I recommend Dark Cloud 2, Xenosaga, Final Fantasy 11 if u feel like paying monthly and have network adaptor, Resident Evils, etc.Also Wild Arms and just about any games from SquareEnix.

One good RPG is Kingdom Hearts. Its an RPG with a twist. It has disney in it and looks kinda kidish but far from it. It took me over a 2 weeks to beat. But try it out, its one of the best.

I'd have to agree with ol' canuk. Kindom Hearts is not bad. I'm 27 and I enjoyed it. I just don't bring it up when I'm talking to chicks. I guess if I had a gazillion dollars and Brad Pitt good looks it might not matter-but I don't.

Actually I find that some women do like this game.

Summoner and Summoner 2 huh? I was a big fan of Summoner, although many thought the game was rather tedious and daunting at times. I picked up Summoner 2 the day it came out...and yet I have yet to play it. After all this time I still haven't touched it. Maybe I'll finally get around to that soon....

As for Dark Cloud, I'd have to agree. It got very repetitive, although the music was definitely kickin'.

Get Final Fantasy X. Its an awesome RPG that I played well over 100 hours. On that same note, do not get Final Fantasy X-2. If you like Final Fantasy X a lot, then do not get the sequel. It is a big let down and doesn't come close to the quality of his predecessor. Xenosage and Kingdom Hearts are also really good games. And the good things about these two games is that they are having sequels as well. I just hope it's not as disapointing as X-2 was. I know this is a little old school, but I still love to play Final Fantasy VII. The game just never gets old.

yea as the previous guy said final fantasy 10 is one of the best rpgs ever made i think. the story is really dramatic and made me have this weird feeling after beating and watched the ending of it. has one of the best stories in a rpg game ever. but what u said about final fantasy x-2 is kinda wrong. i don't think final fantasy x-2 isnt all that bad. just has worse story and too much annoying things that is not related to the story for completion points but u have to admit the battle system is a hell lot more fun than final fantasy 10.

Ok, I will agree with you that the fighing style was a lot better. But there's a lot more than the fighting I look at when rating a game. X-2 would have been a lot better if FFX wasn't so damn good and had such a good storyline. It is kind of hard to follow a game like that.

Dramatic? You want drama play FF8. The romance in 10 was pitiful at best. It was terribly built up and this is my first FF where I have actually felt embarrased for the character. Im talking about the part where tidus jumps around on the boat while looking at yuna with binoculars. Oh and I love the first line Yuna says to Tidus "The wind....it feels nice" It only got worse from there. Yes, im referring to those really annoying parts where they would just break out and laugh. Would someone please explain to me in detail what exactly makes this game so great?

I was at the part where you have to defeat the red dragon and Yuna is gonna marry Seymour was i close to the end or still close to the middle? anyways Kingdom Hearts was a great game too i finished it once and im workin my way back to see the real ending the second time around. Im also really surprised nobody has mentioned Champions of Norrath. It was a pretty good game to say the least. I personally think its better if you play it multiplayer so if you get it play it with a friend.

I don't own a Ps2, but the two RPG's on it that I want to play are Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and Kingdom Hearts. You might check those out, unless your question about "give me an RPG that isn't boring" was a rhetorical one.

If you own a GC, Skies of Arcadia legends is a very cool RPG. It reminds me a lot of the Final Fantasy series in gameplay, but I love the whole "Pirates in flying ships" motif.

My recommendations for FUN rpgs that haven't been mentioned.

PS2: Star Ocean: Till the end of time (I completed this a few weeks ago, good stuff)
GC: Tales of Symphonia (One of the few good RPGS on GC)
DC: Grandia 2 (Precursor to Skies of Arcadia and as such as a wicked rpg)
PS1: Eternal Eyes (similar style of gameplay as Vandel Hearts but much more fun)

no i am not trying to piss you rpg geeks off im just saying that i am a big geek and dont find rpgs all that fun, i even found 'halo' to be very very very boring. there are very few modern games that seem to grasp me and take me in. I myself am a games developer and im attempting to re-imply orginality into the industry. Great titles i loved are Ico, rez, panzer dragoon orta. However the final fantasy series are just sequels of repetitive and quite tedious.

Ps: i know what you halo fans are all going to say, i have heard it all so please just dont waist your time. :), i aint changing my mind.

You have a point. Original rpgs are hard to find. Though I do think Xenosaga was pretty decent. It was more animation than game at times.
