Do yourself a favor and pick up FF:Tactics. Jet Grind Radio is lots of fun as well.

If you never played a Link to the Past (Zelda) its fun as well and comes with a exclusive gba game that you can play with friends. Other games I have are Metroid: Fusion, Sponge Bob (found it on the ground one day), and Shaun Palmer's Prosnowboarder.

I picked up Digimon Racing and Golden Sun: Lost Age for my daughter's new GBA SP (which has Mario 3 bundled with it) for Christmas. I figured I'd play Lost Age when she isn't using the thing. ;)

Welll, if you want old-school action, Astro Boy: Omega Factor is THE way to go. Hard as nails. Great graphics. Decent music. Excellent gameplay.

...Astro Boy: Omega Factor...

Over-rated.

In fact, I'm pretty disappointed in this game. Hard as nails? Yes. But then when you've got bad guys hiding in the numbers (and by that I mean bad guys hiding up/down and behind the life gauges, scores, and time displays, where you can't see them... as the "HUD", if you will, blocks part of the playable screen!) it kind of cheapens the difficulty a bit, doesn't it?

This game irks me. And the GBA-SP and it's lousy ergonomics irk me even more. This was a baaaaad purchase (or, trade-in actually) on my part. I should've known better!

There's still only two good GBA games, as far as I'm concerned: Wario Ware Inc. and Pinball Of The Dead.

I picked up Cima: The Enemy last year, but did not play it because I got side tracked by Kingdom Hearts on the PS2.

I've just now started playing Cima on my DS, and I have to tell you, it is an awesome strategy-RPG. It is truly unique, with a gameplay system like no other game. Very compelling!

And if you like Pinball of the Dead (I do too) then try to find Sonic Pinball. It has the most variety, the most minigames, and the most serious addiction factor of any of the GBA pinball games, IMO (I also have Pokemon Pinball, Hard Core Pinball, and Muppet Pinball Mayhem). Sega did both Pinball of the Dead and Sonic Pinball, and you can see some similarities, but they are actually very different games.

Why, thank you, for that. I think I will.

Just, uh, one thing... how would you compare the (ball) physics of PotD to SPP?

Now, I want to take this time to say a little bit more about Astro Boy. First off, I was incredibly hard on the game before. It's a good game. In fact... it's a keeper.

But, I still say the game is overrated. There is no way this game should be scoring in the 9's. Or even high 8's. There's just too many flaws and shortcomings in this game for it to warrant "AAA" status. Or even B+ status. The game looks GREAT, but the sound effects and music are mediocre (no complaints on the quality, really, just the quantity - lots of repitition) sometimes the controls aren't very responsive, and there are times of awful slowdown. Awful slowdown. Like at the end. Against the last boss, I had no idea what was going on... the sounds and graphics were seemingly days apart! I'm doing this and hitting that and I'm jamming and I'm jumping and I think I'm kicking the guys azz... and then the next thing you know Astro's flopping on the floor - and then the 'Game Over' screen comes up! But I'm still hearing the sound effects of the punches I threw and the laser shots I fired a while ago. WTF?!? Slowdown mostly happens during the last 1/7th of the game - when it happens - but still this is technical shortcoming and... I'm sorry, but it's more than a fractional matter, imo.

There's other little things too. But there are some little positive things, as well. Like the scoreboards and the fact that you can go directly to any of the stages and sub-stages that you've cleared before. You know, to try and get a new high score. :D Glockstar loves this kind of *bleep*!

I think I'd score Astro Boy: OF an even 8.0 (on the 1 to 10 scale)

A full review will be forthcoming. - once I get to 100% completion. This I swear!

The physics are great and se realistic. However, the tables in SPP are quite a bit larger and are more complex than in PotD, so the ball is larger as well.

When SPP first came out, the game was only sold through Target stores due to a marketing arrangement between Sega and Target. IMO, Sega shot themselves in the foot on that agreement, because most GBA owners never even heard of or saw the game. Reviews for it are hard to come by as well (though yours truly wrote one here...)

I played PotD on my DS, and it was amazing how graphcially rich that game is when backlit. My favorite tables in SPP are the Nights series, they are graphic gems!

BTW, the 'Party' element in SPP is due to the fact that the unlockable mini games can be shared via link cable with other non-cartridge owning GBA users. The main tables, though, are single player.
