Never heard of the game before this.

Reviews of it seem very fair though.

This game create some kind of cult following or are the developers trying to get the word out on what many consider a great platform game?

yeah! i ffigured it out a couple hours after posting. must be sony marketing sly cooper cause its now a greatest hits title.
