Therefore, here are 2 articles I wrote for the school newspaper. In the future, I will be adding the articles to this site before I send them to the editor incase you guys have some interesting feedback that need to be addressed in the article.

Enter the Handheld Wars
(I had to keep this artilce short becuase of spacing)
Just when you think that the whole idea of system wars between Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft was getting boring, a whole new gaming whelm kicks in. That's right, the handheld wars. Over the years, Nintendo has been known to dominate this market with their Game Boy series. Competition challenged the all mighty Nintendo, but soon faced demise as time went by. Handheld consoles like: Game Gear, Lynx, TurboExpress, and NeoGeo Pocket Color were all major competitors but none have ever claimed victory over Nintendo. Interesting to note, each were more advanced than Nintendo's current system in that time period. I am sure you have all heard of the highly advertised Nokia N-Gage, the portable game machine and cell phone launched October 8th 2003. But how many of you heard of Tapwave's Zodiac or Sony's Playstation Portable (PSP)? Yes, Nintendo has more competition this Christmas than expected.
The Tapwave's Zodiac is a Palm OS based handheld unit with a large library of garage games and shareware applications. The unit comes with an advanced Motorola ARM 9 processor armed with an ATI Imageon graphics accelerator to generate the cool 3D-based graphics. There's an MP3 player for digital music, a photo viewer and even a video viewer. Currently there are two types Zodiac in stores, one more powerful than the other. The Zodiac 1 with 32MB RAM sells for $299.99(US) and the more powerful Zodiac 2 with 128MB RAM sells for $399.99 (US). Look out for TV commercials on Comedy Central and MTV2. As for Sony's PSP, it's due for release in winter 2004. We're about to enter the next round of competitors that will try to steal audience away from Nintendo. Can Nintendo survive the tag-team battle against its competitors? Only time will tell.
Wanted: Game Designers !
In September 2003, Sony launched its revolutionary Eye Toy in the market. It's Sony's new innovative game that places the user at the center of a unique gaming experience - literally! The package comes with a USB digital video camera, which places the player into the TV screen, making them the ?star? of the game. Furthermore, it also includes twelve mini-games. Enough with the history, here?s the news: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has decided to create a contest by having the public design the next EyeToy2 videogame. The winner will receive a home cinema system, a widescreen LCD TV, and copies of EyeToy: Play and EyeToy: Groove. They will also get a trip to the team's studios to check out the prototype and see it in action. Ten runners-up will each receive a copy of EyeToy: Groove. Anyone feeling they are bursting with creative juices can visit http://www.uk.playstation.com/ for more details. Hurry, contest closes January 6th 2004!
