No, I'm not implying Xbox for you uneducated ones out there...
Well, for me I like Xbox the most for the following reasons...
in order of importance to me...
1. I love online gaming, especially FPS, XBox has by far the most online titles and gives a near pc like experience on a completely standardized platform where EVERYONE is using controllers and NO KB AND MOUSE. Which throws system specs and otherwise out of the window therefore it comes down to skill(and bandwidth), not the speed of your machine. Ps2 has a few decent online games as well, but most are stripped down.
2. Mature gaming titles, and when I say Mature, I don't mean blood and guts, I mean games that would be too complicated for young children to play. I have grown up all my life gaming since I was 3 and so I have become wary to games with no challenge. This is the primary reason why I've come so close to picking up a GC yet nearly all the big first party action titles end up with frikkin auto aim so why would I even consider it?
3. Bells n Whistles - ok, so we already know this routine...the HDD, the graphics, the cd ripper, the best online service, etc.

"You think we care Tappy? You think that your endless rantings of opinionation can change my mind? I think not!" (Paraphrasing Tappy's response to another thread.)
Well, that makes for a pretty dull conversation if I don't address anything you say or counter with any opposing opinions, huh?

Xbox games are, IMO, generally better than what is offered on the PS2 and loads better than the paltry library of the cube. Xbox games tend to be more complex, offer more of what I want, and seem to have more replay value. The fluent integration of the online service makes the console invaluble.

This is not on-topic, but it is game related. You played any F-zero yet? I missed my change to get mine today.

I didn't pre-order. I went to Best Buy, they said it wasn't available until tomorrow. I went to Wal Mart, they said they'd get it some time this week. I went to EB Games, and they'd put it on sale that morning and sold out. So I went back to Best Buy, and harrassed a clerk until he went in the back and got me a copy (which he'd originally said they hadn't received yet.)
So yeah, I've played it for about two hours this evening. I was making fun of wimpy gamers yesterday, and I'm eating crow today. This game is HARD. Story mode is hard, anyway. So far I've played through the first circuit in Novice mode, and got 1st place on my first time through. But from what I've played of story mode, I'm gonna hold of on bragging.
One thing though, it is beautiful, it is fast, and it retains the feel of F-zero; it feels more like F-zero SNES than the one on N-64. I didn't like the N64 F-Zero. This game makes Extreme-G racing seem slow.
If you love F-Zero or Wipeout, you're gonna love this game; at least I hope so, since there's nothing on the 'cubes horizon that appeals to your tastes.

Here's why:
1) Fighting games: PS2 cannot be beat in this category. All the best fighters with the Exception of DOA3 are either exclusives or at least on the PS2. Gamecube is devoid of fighters and Xbox exclusives like Tao-Feng and Kakuto Chojin are jokes.
2) Action/Adventure games: IMO, Sony has kicked Nintendo's butt in "platform" games. Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter and so many more PS2 games are awesome. The Devil May Cry, Onimusha and Silent Hill games are mostly PS2-exclusives and I love them.
3) Gran Turismo 3 & 4. All that needs to be said.
All the best Japanese-developed games are PS2 exclusives also. I love the system with the most good games and PS2 happens to be it. The graphics on Xbox are better and sure, you don't need a memory card. But considering PS2 was released to market nearly two years earlier, the graphics between the two aren't that different.

First: Hardware. As my hands age, control comfort is big. This control is so much more ergonomic than anything else. And the Wavebird wireless play must be experienced to be understood. I love it that it is tiny, easily portable, and only plays games. It is a graphics powerhouse in a tiny box, and this indicates to me that it is a work of engineering genius, rather than a stuff-everything in a bix box approach. Effeciency and beauty of design. Finally on Hardware is the GBA player that lets you play GBA's incredible, original, and diverse titles on a large screen. They look GOOD: Metroid Fusion, Zelda, Sword of Mana, Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Oger, ADvanced war I & II, Castlevania--yeah, this little piece of hardware opened up a whole new gaming universe for me--GBA has sported some of the most original games this generation.
And finally: Great exclusives: Metroid Prime, Resident Evil remake, Zero, and Four, Eternal Darkness, Mario Kart, Rogue Squadron II and III, Monkey Balls, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Zelda Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine (and the little Mario summer games golf/tennis) Wario World, Luigi's Mansion, Ikaruga, F-Zero, Kirby's Air Ride, Super Smash Brother's Melee, Metal Gear Solid,. etc. All finely crafted exclusive games. No wonder third party non-exclusives have a hard time competing on this platform, eh?
But whether or not its out there yet, we've got plenty of big multi-system games, Splinter Cell, Hitman II, Tony Hawk, Beyond Good and Evil, Starcraft Ghost, XIII, Rayman, Prince of Persia---yeah, Splinter Cell may sell the fewest on GC, but this system is my favorite because you've got such a range and variety of choices. I can play Metroid, Zelda, Pikmin, F-Zero, but I can still play the big xbox hit Splinter Cell, too. Most of the rest of the Xbox is on PS2 of PC. But the GC exclusives, you can't get them anywhere else, making this system essential for a real gamer, rather than a discretionary option like the xbox (do I really want to spend that much money for the 5 games I can't get somewhere else?)

1. Fighting games? Well, sorry, PS2 CAN be beat...that is unless you like playing with yourself. But that's right you do don't you? Xbox is the only console where you'll find online fighters and will remain that way up until MK6(MK5 sucked anyway).
2. action adventure? sure, take it, go be a kiddie...you're only as old as you feel right? DUUHHHHH
3. GT3&4? Well, lets see, GT3 = a stripped down version of GT2 with better graphics, GT4 only has 6 racers online HA. Pathetic. Give me a break. Xbox has Moto GP 1&2 which blow away any other driving experience due to tight online racing with 16 racers total. Also, with PGR2 coming out, which looks better than GT4, Sony doesn't have a prayer in the racing category.
Ok, so PS2 has better action/adventure games, I give you that one.

For me and about 78 million other gamers playing games on PS2, Xbox and Gamecube-this doesn't mean squat. Now to your points.
1. PS2 can be beat? How? Does Xbox have Virtua Fighter 4? What about Tekken Tag & 4? How about Guilty Gear X 1 & 2? Virtua Fighter Evolution? The only fighters worth their salt on Xbox are the Capcom fighters and DOA3. As far as Capcom Vs. SNK 2 online, the game is ridiculed by reviewers & gamers alike who can't stand the choppy slow-down. Wow-you can play a game now that PS2 had over a year ago with the added benefit of your character performing the move you inputed with a delay! COOL!
2. Action/Adventure encompasses more than platformers. Games like Silent Hill, Grand Theft Auto, Onimusha, Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Solid 2 fit in this category. Oh-but wait: I forgot you got a slowdown-ridden version of MGS2 Substance without a few modes the PS2 version included and you are getting a port of the year-old Vice City sans the Grand Theft Auto moniker. HOW COOL!
3. Again with the online? Sorry, but MotoGP 1, 2 & 3 on PS2 are just as good as the Moto GP's on Xbox. Project Gotham & the upcoming sequel are fun, but don't offer the sheer amount of cars, customization, tracks, modes and secrets that the GT games offer. Where's your custom racing cars in PG? GT4 has over 500 cars, more tracks, more parts, more tournaments and more of everything. Sorry, nothing on Xbox can compare. Let's not forget PS2 racers like Auto Modellista, Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero, Ridge Racer V.....
Sorry-games are the most important component of a great system. PS2 has more great games than Xbox. You lose. End of story.

1. Regardless, Ps2 STILL doesn't have any online fighters and by the end of this year, Xbox will have 2. And I owned the game, some games had lag, some don't. Saying that every game played in CvS2EO was lag ridden proves your ignorance almost as much as idiot PS2 fanboys who claim they've NEVER experienced lag in SOCOM. Have fun playing with yourself in VF4 and Tekken 4 cause you won't be taking them online.
2. Over half the games you mention are available on Xbox now, so what? Xbox owners obviously don't CARE about crap like Onimusha(which has a superior version on Xbox), nor MGS2(which sold like butt on Xbox, why? Because MGS2 is the most overrated game ever made! Xbox owners are smart enough to not buy games based on hype like naive PS2ers who keep crap like the MGs series alive), you PS2 fanboys still bring up a nearly 3 year old game, Devil May Cry like you people still play it(yea right, single player games are only good for so long, no matter HOW good they are) and as far as VC is concerned, I think it was a terrible decision by MS to bring it to Xbox over a year later and I could only imagine the millions that MS gave Rockstar to get this loophole...the fact is, it's an old game that is CRAP on PS2 just like GTA3 was on PS2, the PC version is superior to it in every way shape and form. ANd with True Crime coming out, no Xbox owner will care about VC one way or another...oh and we'll also have the superior version on Xbox as well complete with soundtracks from the HDD.
3. Moto GP as good on PS2 as Xbox? Sorry, but critics disagree with you there and not only them but me...NO Moto Gp is online for PS2, sorry! The only racing you can do online with PS2 right now is....AUTO MODELISTA!!! THe CRAPPIEST Capcom game EVER(that is until PN03 came out). You people may love your GT games but I think they are poop and I always have. They are too damn serious for video games. People who long for "realism" in video games make no since to me. THis is all opinion as is what you have to say. I'd prefer an arcade racer to a realistic sim any day...hell I'd rather be playing Mario Kart over anything on Xbox so I guess I don't really have any business even talking about racers...all I know is that I've played MOTO GP on LIVE and I've found that it is probably the deepest, tightest, best online racing experience there is...I didn't have the patience for it because I don't really understand the physics of a motorcycle.
There's more crappy games out of every 100 for PS2 than there are for Xbox PERIOD. NO one forces ANYONE to run out and buy crappy games...things like that just happen. It's useless talking about crappy games. i mean, why even bother? What are you trying to get accross? There may be 400 something pS2 games but the sad thing is, only about a dozen of them can even come close to what is on Xbox.

Oh man, arcadey racers suck! Why play a racer if you can perform jumps that launch you into the air like you're on the Moon? Or physics that allow you to round 90 degree corners at 200? I'll stick with my EA F1's, TOCA2, Mobil1 Rally Championship, and Rally Trophy any day (funny enough these are almost all exclusive to the PC).

Online is about as important to me as dingleberries! Take away your online arguement and you have nothing![/b}
Playing fighting games by myself? Gee...I wonder what those 2-4 player options are for???
Half the games I mentioned are available on Xbox? Name 'em! Let's hear it Tappy! Metal Gear Solid 2 sold like ass but was praised by reviewers and Microsoft paid Konami [b]huge sums to bring this game to Xbox just as they did with Genma Onimusha and Silent Hill 2. As far as those two games go, Genma is far from being better than the original. Wow-they added a ragdoll and let enemies get cheap shots in on you while you are trying to collect souls and they are trying to get them as well! So while you are vulnerable and unable to attack, monsters get free hits on you! Silent Hill 2 has a cheesy tacked-on short-ass bonus mission. Wooo.....
Boy you got me with the "only online racer on PS2 is Auto Modellista!" Man, I hate that! Kind of like the only online racer Xbox owners have is MotoGP2! Right? And yes-because you think the Gran Turismo games are "poop", they are just that-poop. Millions upon millions of gamers should listen to you and never buy another GT game.
Oh-and sorry: Group S Challenge (racer) on Xbox scored 65.3% average as opposed to Auto Modellista's 67.6%. HAH!
More crappy games...yadda, yadda, yadda. Prove it. You are just running off at the cake-hole. Only about a dozen can come close to what is on Xbox? Better check out gamerankings pal. I won't bother to post all the great PS2 games that make Xbox's selection look like utter ass. I've humiliated you enough as is.

The MotoGP series on PS2 are different games made by Namco. They are more arcade-like racers. The MotoGP series on Xbox are made my THQ and are very sim-like. IMO, the Xbox versions are superior, but that is a preference.
