Anyone get their dirty little hands on SC2 yet? I know that many people have "hook-ups" to get games before it's officially released, so i was wondering if it was worth the $50 purchase.

I had it for like 4-5 months already. It doesn't worth 50 bucks, imo. It is just like the old SC with better graphics and couple new characters. If you have a GC, I say get Nintendo's version of SC2. Link is awesome.

I think I'm going to rent this one Friday. I will probably get the Xbox version, to play as Spawn.

It's a great rental, but not worth $50, IMO. Fighting games are over too quickly.

You can tell about the weapon master mode, and the unlockables, etc. The game just isn't that hard, so that stuff doesn't matter.

If you're a hardcore fighting nut, you'll probably get your $50 worth, but everyone else should try before they buy

Nobody around here plays SC2, so there's no need for me to buy it. Fighting games are only fun with a crowd. (Which is why I miss those old Arcade days...when the people use to hang around the Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition game...)

I've got the GC version. I pretty much completed the story part of the Weapon Master Mode after playing for 3-4 hours last night and I've got the extra missions opened up where the difficulty is at all five stars. Pretty good game so far and it does excel past the DC game in some stages.

Well, I played the game months ago on a Japanese GCN. I think the Dreamcast original looks better, somehow. At least the characters looked a lot more real. The women looked pretty. Now they all look like zombies.

I was happy to see that there are levels where you can't ring out. I can't STAND that about SC...the stupid ring out.

My cousin rented it and he invited me to come over and play. I thought it was pretty neat.

SC2 on PS2 > Dreamcast version (That's my opinion)

Five stars Difficulty is fine and all. The dungeons really bother me. At several occasions, I fell asleep while playing them.

I agree with a couple of things here. One I do agree that the DC's version is clearly the best version over SC II for the other three consoles.

And second I dont believe that this was clearly worth 50 bucks.$39.99? Sure I'll swing with that. But I had a $39 dollar store credit put aside so I only paid 13 dollars for SC II for the Xbox.So I dont feel too cheated though.SC II was still a good game.I'm glad I own it.But I just didnt feel that fuzzy feeling like I did with the first time I turned on the DC's version of SC.

I will agree with you on this note:I dont feel this game was worth 50 bucks.I'll give you that.(Especially when you throw in an unarmed, power bracelet wearing Heihachi)But if you put the DC's version of SC and put it side by side with SC II for the Xbox,GC,or PS2 even Ray Charles can see that the DC's version still after four years kills SC II in every aspect.Clearly.

Plus Inferno was a wuss in SC II compared to the DC's version as well. All those extra modes in SC II was okay, but overall the DC's version from graphics to gameplay IMO is still the best.Even after four years.

Yeah, that last dungeon is really long. Still, some of the challenges keep the dungeons from being just basic. I thought I was done with the game and then another chapter suddenly opened up. I think it was the last one where you had to go beat four seperate Edge Masters. To this point, I'm still missing two things to unlock in Collection History and my game time is at around 30 hours. Of course, that's mostly with multiplayer and messing around with the other modes included.

All in all, I like this one better then the DC Soul Calibur game. They gave me back my weapons and it does make multiplayer fights a bit more interesting. NTM, that it becomes extremely hard to complete some of the Weapon Master challenges with just ordinary weapons.

Multiplayer? you mean having a friend over and playing VS mode? SC2 doesn't have internet support right? If it does, i'll go buy it right now.

hmmm... I'm not sure if it's worth SGD100... I just bought this game last saturday... I don't have plans on buying this game (I'm a Street Fighter fanatic), but when I saw this guy on the WCG Singapore last sat (30 August), I have the urge to buy and sent that guy to school. He's to proud (with a demonic smile everytime he beats a guy) that he'd beaten 9 guys all he has to do was button mashing and a little knowledge of how to hold and throw an opponent.

I know that the finals will be held tomorrow (31 August), and I'm sure that guy will show up again. So I went and bought the Soul Caliber 2 game in a nearby store. Went home and practiced Yunsung all night from 9pm to 2am and when the morning comes I asked my flat mate if I can borrow his Xbox (he doesn't have the Soul Caliber 2 game) to train my hand to getting to used to that BIG BULKY CONTROLLER even it is the Controller S and I know that it has the same setup as the PS2 controller.

Sunday afternoon, I went again there and when I saw that same guy playing Soul Caliber 2, I waited patiently for my turn to sent that guy to school. At last, when it's my turn, I beat him 2 in a row and when I looked at him, he's pulling a long face... nyahahaha!!! too bad for him.

Since I'm getting hooked to this game (damn fast loading time compare to SF EX2 Plus)... may I know what characters are you using, since I only played this game last saturday... hehehe

Yeah, I meant having friends over and playing the vs. mode. And yes, SC2 doesn't have internet support.

SC is better than SC2? That is something a drug addict would say. SC2 is everything SC was but better. How is SC better? Gameplay of SC is better? How? SC and SC2 have the same gameplay.

Dude, you should really start to play the games first then comment on them.

Man, 30 hours? My play time is like 13 hours now. I don't think I'll play it again anytime soon.

Disgaea is too much fun...:)

My brother picked up Skies of Arcadia for GC and I played it a bit. I got to the point where I had to show Fina (blonde girl) around town. Hate to admit this but I'm liking it a bit. I think I'll also pick up Tales of Symphonia when that ships for GC. Of course, all this was before SC2 sidetracked me. I'll probably end up borrowing the game from my brother and try finishing it sometime this winter.

Your secret is safe with me. ;)

Seriously though Skies is one of the best RPGs I've ever played and the GC version is tweaked even more. I can't fault anyone for liking it.

Skies of Arcadia? Of course that's a great game. Played it on the DC, and I couldn't believe how fast I got to the 60 hour mark.

I don't think it's better than FF7, like folks like to claim, but it's definitely a classic.
