NOLF help

i can't seem to find my way into the guarded compound (early in the game) by finding something behind the shelf in the library. i can't even find the library for that matter. so i am totally stuck. can someone tell me what to do? thanx.

Im not sure where you are exactly. Could this be "Berlin by Night", mission three?
It soundssimilar in that you must get inside aompound. The compound has a guarded gatehouse & phone booth near by...does this sound familiar?
I can provide hints/tips w/o spoilers if this is the level.

The building housing the library is near the operative that you need to give the light to. The building to your right (a large building), has a basement level that resembles more a storeroom than a library and has a door hidden behind one of the shelves. Use it I think to discover it.
