Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a game that would allow 3-4 people to play together? Besides Madden football, we've been looking for something that my husband and I could play with his brother. We've got Global SWAT but the only 4-play is the deathmatch stuff. The same with Red Faction. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can play from four to six people on that game with a multi-tap of course.Best matches to play with 4-6 people on is tag matches,6 man tag matches,Elimination Chamber, hardcore matches, and the ever loving Armegeddon Hell in the cell match. If you guys are wrestling fans and in need of a good party game Smackdown:Here comes The Pain is a must buy on the PS2.Its one of my favorite games me and my friends play alot.

I have a definite recommendation. It sounds like you are really into the 'go get'em' type games; however, the 'Eye Toy' has a huge fun factor when playing with other people. You can compete and see who gets the highest score on some pretty addicting games.

Yeah i don't really consider players playing against each other as multiplay.... not in the true sense.

I have been very upset lately like with Fur Fighters, Red faction, and Unreal Tournament when games brag about being multiplay and it is only player against player.

That is versus not multiplay!

Anyways I am intrested in the same as you I think.... kind of new to true game shopping as it were (checking reviews and features BEFORE you buy, etc.), but I will shoot you any recomendations I have or good games I come across.

One tip i may suggest that I have now learned.... look for games that mention Co-op also.

Gives you a better chance at geting what you want.

Also, I am not sure but check out Freedom Fighters. It is a third person shooter that has gotten decent reviews and I think has a 4 player co-op mode.

Not positive, but I think it might.

Hi all,

Thank you for your recommendations - will have to look for the co-op...I should have mentioned that we are not set up to play on-line - at least, not yet :-)

We have Freedom Fighters. I don't know what we are doing wrong but it says you can do 4 with a multitap, so we plugged in the multitap and the game wouldn't recognize it. We have two so we tried the other one - same thing. So we just plugged in two controllers directly to the game and the only two person stuff we could find was against each other. Again, not sure what we are doing wrong...

We rented Back to Bagdad from Blockbuster and for a 2 person that was pretty cool. The one person was a pain - you are controlling all 4 squad members. On the 2 person you control 2. Didn't seem like it would be that far to go to be able to have 4 people play and each one control one of the squad members...oh well.

If we find any I will update as well. Thanks!

Heard some news on the Co-Op front...

X-Men legends due out this fall will feature a 4-player co-op mode. :)

Preview for the game by Gamespot is located here (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/xmenlegends/preview_6028067.html) and another from IGN is located here (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/402/402800p1.html).

Thanks for the heads-up. We will keep an eye out for it. I did buy Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon this past weekend. It says you can either play against each other or together. We got into it and did a little bit with the training and tactical missions to get used to the screens and controls. Then we went to try to play with each other. The multiplay is set at "survival" and won't let us change it. We can only play - death match against each other. Haven't found out yet how to be able to change....

Oh well...we'll keep trying :-)

i know good multiplayer games to play with your family but not all of them r 3-4 player games. One of the games is DDR MAX 2 with 2 dance pads. Not only fun but gives good exercise. Only 2 player though. Try My Street. I never played it but its a party game i think. The one i really recommend is DDR MAX 2with dance pads

If you're looking for an excellent 1st person co-op shooter, try Half Life for the PS2. Players actually have to co-operate to get around problems in this shooter, so it's not just about blasting everything you see, there is actually a great story to this game. There's also TimeSplitters 2, not much of a story but plenty of options for 1 - 4 player 1st person shooting fun. If you're looking for something different then try out Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. It's an action/RPG with a great 2 player co-op mode, plenty of enemies, weapons, armors, and items. Those are just a few good multiplayer titles.
