Time is getting short for purchasing Xbox, Im sure others that view here are looking for specials on this console too.

Please post any specials/news/rumors w/links as you come across them for Xbox, Xbox live, or bundles.

Thanks!

Many of you already know this, but might as well list it. Many Live-enabled games that have come out recently are offering 2 free months of Live. They have a card in the game's case that gives you instructions on how to go about this. After your 2 months are up, you can cancel or have it automatically rebilled to keep your service. (Remember that you need a credit card.) Counterstrike, Project Gotham 2, and Topspin have this 2 months free (for certain). I think Rainbow Six 3 and Crimson skies do as well.

Also, while we're on the subject of Live and potential holiday buyers, let me point out this one important thing (Glockstar already mentioned this in another thread):

Potential Xbox owners, Holiday shoppers BEWARE: Please be cautious of the little "Live - Online Enabled" logo that appears at the top left of the cover of Xbox games. This "Live" logo appears on any game that has any connection to Xbox Live whatsoever. However, not all games that have this logo actually have online play. Remember that Live has several features: online play, downloadable content, friends list scoreboards, etc. Here is the key:

----> Look at the back of the game. Near the bottom of the back of the case there are categories describing various features of the game. The key is to look for "Online Multiplayer". If this feature is highlighted and an X is in the box next to this, then you can play this game with other gamers online.

There are several Xbox games that only have "Content Download", yet they carrie the "Live - Online Enabled" logo on the front of the game's case. This can be deceptive. Also, there is one game that only has the "Friends" feature, meaning that the game itself is not online multiplayer, but you can play it single player and check to see if any of your friends are on Live. Pretty lame. Likewise, there are a few racing games that only have the "Scoreboards" feature highlighted: meaning that your best times are uploaded to a Live server, but you can't actually play online with other gamers. So, don't go by what's on the front of the game ... flip it over and look to see what Live features it specifically has.
