I've been seeing a lot of acclaim for this title here on the boards, especially about how it's so customizable. I was wondering if there are any mods for it that give it a flavor, specifically are there mods to get like star wars ships, or star trek etc?

Tried searching on the net but there was too much information and I didn't know where to start, lol.

About 4 or 5 threads down the list is an awesome collection of links for the game. The main game disc itself has tons of mod content as well.

Here's one of my favorites. In the middle of a game, you're creaming everybody, so for a challenge, you put the computer in charge of your race while you switch over to one of the other races. See if you can get them to make a comeback against the behometh you've created. How many games let you do that?!
