On the home page of gametrailers.com, there is a trailer listed for Viewtiful Joe on the PS2 with release TBA. Dont know if this is a mistake or not, but I thought some of you would be interested in this. The trailer itself is from the GC, but the game has been out for a while and I dont think that they would have TBA as the release for the GC version, as the site seems up to date.

Perhaps, it will come out for PS2. Who knows? However, the game doese not have a big fanbase. I don't think it would attract a great deal of PS owners to buy it. Still though, I would get it for GameCube just to support Nintendo.

Interesting...but I'll have to assume that it's an error for now.

Metal Gear Solid 2 went from being a PS2 exclusive to coming out for the Xbox a year later.Same can be said about the GTA series.
Capcom signed on the dotted line with Nintendo and proclaimed that the only way that gamers will be able to play Resident Evil is to own a Gamecube. So Capcom was claiming that the RE series was exclusive only to GC owners.
But yet PS2 owners(like myself) has had Resident Evil:Dead Aim come across our PS2 threshold. And next year Resident Evil:Outbreak comes out for what console? The PS2.And the game also supports PS2 online.Once again another exclusive has apparently sold out.
At this point just about any game can end up on any other console if the money is right."Money talks and BS walks."
If VJ ends up on the PS2 then that wouldnt be much of a surprise. So if I was you Twelve I wouldnt just ASSUME anything yet.Assumptions is the mother of F'ups.Remember that.

I've been lead to believe that Viewtiful Joe uses certain attributes of the Gamecube hardware that are unavailable (or at least unseen at this point) on the Xbox and PS2 hardware. The GCN supposedly has some magical ability to create cartoon graphics (cell shading) and the effects that go along with them. Therefore some of the special effects and such would not be possible on another console.
This is just what I've heard. I'm not sure if it's true or completely false. If anyone knows more info. on this please elaborate…

DC ports? PS2 ports? PC ports? Xbox ports? Special effects or not if Capcom thinks it can make more money bringing VJ over to the PS2 consider it done.
For Example:Splinter Cell looked and played gorgeous on the Xbox.Six months later when a port of the game came to the PS2 and the GC both versions looked good.Even though it was very clear that the game did'nt look nearly as good as the Xbox's version. Some areas had to be completely redone and broken down into more stages for the PS2's version.
But did that stop GC/PS2 owners from getting a piece of the pie? No.So I wouldnt be assuming that porting VJ to the PS2 is impossible.Whether it turns out to be a crappy port or not.A GC port of the game coming to the PS2 isnt that impossible to believe. We will just have to wait and see.
Remember what I told 12 about assumptions.

Viewtiful Joe on the PS2.......hmmm........I just can't picture it. I'm thinking that it would have to be "dumbed down" some in order to keep up with the fast-paced action that the game delivers. And what about when people bust the zoom move, would it have killer jaggies? Probably so.

"dumbed down" and "killer jaggies"---sounds like a recipe for success on the PS2.

Gotta believe that's a bunch of BULL! PS2 and Xbox both have their share of cell shaded games along with the "effects that go along with them"...hell even Dreamcast had it's share...
Sounds like something spun straight from the "Jr Nintendo Power Club"...
