Im a little new to the pc gaming community and a couple questions i have may sound a little stupid but thats beside the point. we have a computer that my family all uses and my dad gets realy pissed when i download or upload stuff onto it. i know that it is capable of playing the pc games that i want to play but i dont want to install them for fear of slowing down the machine. is there any kind of memory card or device that i can use to save the game onto and put it into my computer only when i want to play the game? any help is greatly appreciated

I came across this USB device, has 256mb capacity, advertises for game storage:

Aside from these compact external memory devices, you may want to consider an external hard drive w/mush more capacity.
I admit to never having given thought to this before reading your post.
Others here may have better/alternate suggestions for you.
Your dad should be more concerned about all the adware/spyware/porn (delete as applicable) that you're downloading whenever you surf the internet than with you installing a few games onto your PC. Seriously, most games won't affect your system globally as much as, say, installing AOL or something. But if you are concerned, you should try to read up a bit more about the subject. Knowledge is the best way to ensure that nothing gets on your system you don't want to be there.

Yeah, I mean the only thing adverse that installing games will do to your computer is use up Hard Drive space... it won't slow the computer down one bit.
I agree...the games do not slow down your system but the crap that you download or adds icons to the taskbar do. Check your startup folder and delete anything that you do not need to load at boot.
If you have a small hard drive you might want your father to consider picking up a 2nd one as they are cheap nowadays.
