Not a bad idea, Five.
But a little premature.

XBox owners are still waiting on two (more) legitimate GOTY contenders in Deus Ex: Invisible War and Ninja Gaiden.

So until they come out, most lists be incomplete.

That said, The kitties and the coppertops lists should be all ready for you. Because as far as exclusives go, they've already blown their wad. Not they have much to list anyway, though. Especially the P2ers. The GameCube had a few "decent" releases, what with Wind Waker and Viewtiful Joe. But what exclusive titles does the PS2 have up for GOTY honors?!? Certainly not The Getaway, or Tomb Raider, or Castlevania. What then... Jak II? Final Fantasy X-2?

Not saying that those games suck. Neither am I saying that the systems suck. But I am saying that they, "suck in comparison".

I "already" see three XB console exclusives getting nominations for the GOTY: Wolfenstein, KOTOR, and Crimson Skies. There's actually another - that I like even better those - but I know that there's no way it will receive any serious consideration for the overall award.

Of the multi-plats: Tiger Woods 2004 has to be the best of the bunch - that I've played. I'm sure many others like SSX 3 more, though.

If I said it once, I've said a thousand times... I think this has been the greatest year EVAR!!! for videogames. Never have I seen so many games worth buying. Never have I bought so many new games in one year! And never have I been so... pleased... with the way that all of these games have turned out!!!

Anyhow, here's my Top 10 - as of now:

I think GOTY will be awarded to Zelda: Wind Waker. The only competition I see for this game comes from KOTOR which I believe won't win for 2 reasons: 1. It's a Star Wars game. 2. It's an RPG. While all the other games you guys mention are probably great games they aren't on the same scale as ZWW. Perhaps Prince of Persia: Sands of Time will surprise me though.

Here are my (Gamecube biased) favorites though:

I know the GOTY lists are incomplete until a few key releases hit the shelves (Deus 2, Ninja Gaiden - both on the XBOX).

But with only 2-4 weeks to play either game before the year is over, they'd probably have a hard time winning GOTY in most publications. Its unfortunate, but timing sometimes means a lot!!!!

I'm sure Ninja Gaiden will be great, and I can't wait to get my grubby little fingers on that release. I'm ultra-curious as to what LIVE functionality it will have. It seems like Tecmo is being pretty tight lipped with that as of yet (at least from what I've read).

I just purchased Crimson Skies and are loving that game. If I wrote my list later, it would have been included.
