Who do you think would win in a fight between a full grown Lion and a full grown Gorilla??

I mean a lion is badass, but just imagine a pissed of gorilla...

Now i know this has nothing to do with system wars, but i cant find anything related to this on the web...and have been thinking about it for a while..so please dont delete this to soon!

I'm thinking it would depend on the setting. If it's a wide open area, I like the lions chances. Lions are fast in an open area and the lion has claws and teeth to do some quick damage.

If it's a more confined fighting area with trees and stuff, I'd think the gorilla would have the advantage. The gorilla would pretty much be able to use logs to hit the lion and when the lion came after it it could just climb a tree.

I think the lion would win because it's base setting include high speed and strenght. However, if you equip your qorilla with ether mail and a knights helm and give him some badass weapon to boost his attack stats there might be a chance for him to kick keister.

Then again it could be a wizard lion and if that's the case then all bets are off. Is it a wizard lion?

Gorilla's a primate. Human's a primate. Lion's a big cat, Tiger is a big cat.

Gorrilla's a bit bigger than a human, but when that tiger nearly killed that Siegfried and Roy guy (Roy I guess) with what was not much more than a love pat by Tiger standards. . . .well, frankly, I don't think any big stupid monkey stands a chance against a sharp clawed, fast and vicious feline.

Great Friday night topic by the way. Are drunk you are as I am?

Hmm... I agree with thug taking into consideration the environment
Gorillas are smarter than lions but a lions rage would probably even that out, not to mention the speed... don’t forget that gorillas don’t exactly have dentures either, they’ve got some pretty good chompers... I would imagine the gorilla to have the advantage of strength, but those claws on the lion would probably tear the gorillas flesh to pieces, even if the gorilla tried to choke the lion, the claws would make him flinch and let go, so the gorilla would have to be trained on how to break another creature neck in a single twist... other than that, as much as i like the gorilla...
I think the Lion would win.

cool idea for a discussion by the way, even though it's kinda sorta irrelevant given the purpose of these partucular forums :cool:

Many martial arts styles came from watching animals, and a monkey when confronted by such an adversary wouldn't run from it. It would stagger around, like it was drunk. This confused the lion or tiger, since it wasn't normal prey behavior. The tiger would even back up... and gave the monkey a chance to escape... maybe. Hence the drunken monkey style. But onto the question..... the lion. A gorilla while very strong and aggressive really isn't equipped to hunt like a lion or tiger.

I dont really know...a pissed of silver back gorilla is dangerous..so is a tiger or lion...but i would really like to see a video of that fight..hehe

Chances are you can find a video of that somewhere on the web, like Stupidvideo.com or something.......I think a Lion would deffinately win, when you compare mass between the two, their actually quite close, the lion packs quite alot of muscle, and can stand up to 6 feet when on his hind legs, maybe even more, and it is more likely for the lion to fight on it's hind legs and therefore could overtake the gorilla, plus all the other mentioned advantages the lion has.

Now this is a topic I can sink my teeth into. Har har har. Just kidding.

I'm going to preface this by saying I'm a huge cat-lover and own two cats. With that out of the way, one gorilla would beat the living snot out of one lion. Were talking about a primate that can weigh more than half a ton versus a kitty that weighs in around 300 - 600 pounds - females weigh in between 200 - 400 pounds.

For one thing, lions hunt in packs, so one single lion would be at a serious disadvantage over one single gorilla. Yes, the lion has speed and agility - but gorillas also have speed and agility, and monsterous strength to boot.

Now, if it was a Siberian Tiger, which usually weighs much more than 600 pounds, and is over ten feet in length, that would be more of an even match for a gorilla than the lion would be. Siberian tigers are also solitary animals, so they would not be handicapped by fighting alone.

I'd go with the Siberian Tiger over a gorilla. I mean, hell, have you ever heard of a "man eating" gorilla? Didn't think so.

After Trebor's fine analysis, I'd have to say Siberian Tiger as well.

(Well... it ain't a thread about video games, but at least its not another "mine is bigger than yours rant"... unless we're talking about the lion or the gorilla of course.)

But if the gorilla was against a tiger...then the tiger is gonna win for sure. Lions are lazy animals, and i dont a MALE lion would ever fight a gorilla. If u ever do seee a video of them fighting i bet it would be the FEMALE lion fighting. The male lion in the background would probably be sleeping. Besides tigers are faster and less lazier than lions. LoL my comment has no paragraph structure.
