For all that big talk about waiting for October figures and all that big-talk with the Nintendo fanboys around here quoting Nintendo press releases saying that Gamecube is #2 in the US-here is the chart courtesy of Slade with the truth printed for all to see.

Even after over a FULL MONTH of Gamecube selling at $99, here is where we stand:

Xbox has a 1,230,000 lead over Gamecube.
Xbox software has a higher tie ration than Gamecube software.
Xbox and Gamecube are tied with 4 titles each in the Top 20.

the masses worship EA yet again. Next month MoH Rising Crap will probably sell more than any other game. People buy up LIVE and even the pros say it can't hold ESPN's jock but idiot shallow morons gotta have their EA, gotta have their frikkin 5$ worth to 50$ upgrade every year with Madden.

According to those figures I suppose u can say that Nintendo is making the most $$$
Thats if u add up GC and GBA...
Where would Nintendo be without the Gameboy consoles? Maybe besides Sega...
Maybe they should make a Viewtiful Joe game on the GBA? or is that already in the works?

Well this data must be wrong!
Because you know that Nintendo fanboys only post hard facts, right?

The fact of the matter is, is that their factual data is either many months old, taken from Nintendo only fan-sites, Nintendo Power, or from Nintendo press releases!

That said, it absolutely thrills me to see that Viewtiful Joe outsold Castlevania:LOI! Nothing against Castlevania... it's just that the franchise is well known and respected, and the series has quite a following, while VJ is very fresh, and new. When I see stuff like this, I start to thinking that maybe my fellow gamers really do have taste... and it practically puts a tear in my eye. :p (Of course, Castlevania only had 10 days to do it's damage, not a whole month.)

Now I ask you... is there really be any doubting that the GC is for kids?!? Why just look at and compare each of the systems Top 10 lists!

Also, it should be noted that Rainbow Six 3 came out on the 28th... with a just a few more days I'm sure the game would have cracked the 100k mark, and the all-systems-Top-10... easy.

The main thing I've been seeing is people say that nintendo is currently the number 2 fastest selling console in US and that it was #2 in worldwide sales, not that it had in one short month erased the 1.5 million unit lead xbox held in the U.S.

The tie-in ratios are pretty close. Of the four titles xbox had in the top 20, one was the multi-plat EA basketball game. It's only first party game in the top 20 was Crimson Skies, and its a damn shame it didn't sell a lot better. It is too good a game to be selling less than half the copies of Rogue Squadron III. It's also pretty embarrassing that Kirby's Air Ride is edging out Crimson Skies and that Voodoo Vince can't even crack the Xbox-only top ten. Damnit, xbox owners, BUY THESE GAMES. CS and VV where two reasons I even bought an xbox. I'd hate to see them get the tepid response that greated the brilliant Panzer Dragoon. A damned EA sports game tops the list. Sheesh.

Even counting the multi-plat basketball game, the xbox top 20 games sold a total of 297,118 units. The Gamecube sold 330,687 units. That's also interesting considering the 'cube still has a US user base that's 1.2 million less than xbox. This sure is a fun race to watch.

November should be really interesting. Where oh where is that xbox price drop?

In Japan the PS2 and the Xbox has undergone price drops.Could a stateside price cut be in the near future? I say by X-mas the PS2 and the Xbox may go down to $149.00

I'd like to see the prices on the Xbox's drop below $150. Because i already own a PS2 and a capable PC, spending $150 + $50 game, + $50 Live (which i would definitely want) seems a little steep for ME (this is only concerning me). If Xbox puts its price down to $150 with a decent game (such as Halo) with 2 months free Live, i would have to break down and buy one.

Yes, thank you. There is a difference between saying "# 2 in sales" and just "# 2".

Coincidentally, a lot of comments in this thread happen to be a different kind of "# 2".
