I play mainly FPS, action/adventure and rpgs, so until recently never felt the need for a controller. But when I started playing games like Mafia and GTA III which incorporate a lot of driving, I felt the need for one--figuring I could also use it for sports games which can't be played well with the mouse/keyboard combo.
I purchased a Thrustmaster Firestorm and was very disappointed--playing Mafia, the car jumped so much whenever I moved the controller even a little bit that I couldn't control it. Trying to reconfigure things was exceedingly complicated and their tech support was really unhelpful!!
Anyone have a recommendation for a better controller? Also, I know there are wireless options out there--I like the idea of this but am concerned that this will lead to the need for constant changing of batteries, which has been my experience with a wireless mouse.
Thanks for helping out a neophyte.
