Took this quote from System Wars... wanted to reply and thought it would be better here:

Sony (and MS, too, to an extent) are creating a whole class of gamers who will never buy anything for more than $20, and this may will lead to a bit of a collapse in the industry.

Man get off me with that.......

That's like saying Henry Ford ruined the auto industy buy building cheaper cars.

Cheaper product equals more products sold.

And don't give me that Law of Diminshing Returns crap... that is for greedy captiliast pigs that just want the highest return for the least effort and don't give a crap about anything but themselves and their own personal wealth and power.

Sorry... not meant to be a flame, but as a poor person myself I was so pleased when PS2 began it's Greatest Hits series.....

Now maybe more people besides just rich kids can own more than 3 or 4 games.

Personally, I don't think every game that hits the shelf is worth the $50 price tag. It's not because I don't want to pay that much, it has more to do with the quality of the title, the length, the replay value, etc. If a game is short, I tend to stay away from them until the price drops. If it's something long or has replay value (football games), I don't mind spending $50 since I know I will play it for about a year. As far as Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits, I think it's a good idea, because old games should cost less than the newer ones (they should do the same with CDs). Even Halo should have dropped to $20 a few months ago.

Right on Rouge. I don't remember if I did or not but when i say something about cd prices dropping a while back I was curious if the gaming industry would follow suit...it should you know. Soldier of Fortune 2 for Xbox LIVE, prime example...if that game launched at 30$, it would have been mine and I'd play it daily, but the offline portion is HORRIBLE and the graphics are NOT up to Xbox par. It is in NO way worth 50$. Halo should have gone platinum already, no doubt about that!

You know something I LOVED about the 3do? There were so many different kinds of 10$ or less software! I swear by the time I got rid of the 3d0 I had over 200 different pieces of software. Some of the games sucked, granted, but if they cost me 3$, maybe I could get my $'s worth with laughter alone? I like buying up obscure crap, myself, as long as the price is right.
