XIII is gold

For those interested, XIII just went gold and is scheduled to ship on the 18th.

Which happens to be the same day that Knights of the Old Republic hits stores. Sorry, I used to be interested in XIII, but it'll not compete with KOTOR. My euphoria level over the KOTOR news is high enough that the XIII announcement only elicits a "meh, okay".

Have you played the demo? That's definitely "meh". The cel-shaded stuff is a nice idea... until you work out (roughly 5 seconds in) that's it's just a pretty gimmick and you're actually playing YET ANOTHER linear FPS. Oh, and you can't save (at least in the demo). So, yeah.. meh, indeed.

No I haven't played the demo. I certainly will if I ever plan to buy the game, but with KOTOR being released and Deus Ex 2 just around the corner, I doubt I'll bother with XIII.

IGN has posted up a <a href="http://pc.ign.com/articles/440/440818p1.html">3 page review of XIII</a>. They gave it a surprisingly high score. I've played the demo and it was refreshing, but I don't know how that the new look will last.

I played the demo and found it very-very interesting.
I'm biased since I love the UT engine,though.

I don't trust their reviews,they are always bright-eyed positively naive,in the "oh-gee" kinda way,(who knows what their bias is?)
For now KOTOR got my time...........................
