Thinking of getting a new console...

I like the Blu-Ray aspect of the PS3 because we watch a ton of movies, but Wii is something my wife and I can play together which would also be pretty cool.

The question is, which system is better? If there is a thread that has beaten this dead horse, I can be pointed there too.

General Consensus: Wii is crap, PS3 is the way to go.

The only dissenting voice is Trebor. Now if you're looking for something to play with your wife, what exactly did you have in mind? Play WiiFit and WiiSports all day long? There are lots of "party games" on other systems too which you can play with your wife, or if you're cool you get your wife into playing real games with you like Monster Hunter Freedom on the PSP, or fight it out in Tekken/Virtua Fighter/Dead or Alive, or teach her the joys of online fragfests.

But if all you plan is to play WiiSports with your wife, that's a real bad reason to get a new console. Just ask her to go with you to the bowling alley or something instead. You won't find much other use for the Wii, whereas on the PS3 I am assuming you are the kind of gamer who actually likes playing games with substance, you'll have a lot of other good games to play, and hey you can watch Bluray on it too.
