There is a new commercial airing on NBC which has a glowing green ball with a weird shadow suspiciously looking like Halo's Master Chief then P. Diddy says "On November 15th, the world will know Xbox"...

Nov. 15 is a significant date for Xbox because on that date in 2001 the Xbox launched, and on that date in 2002, Xbox LIVE launched.

This appears to be mega hyped secrets, something MS has, thus far, been oblivious to.

Anyone got an idea of what it could be?

I'm thinking it could be a price cut but nothing else comes to mind. It would be awesome for Nov. 15th to be a day that had been shrouded in secrecy so long that NO ONE knew what it was, only talking about possiblities and hype until that day. I'd like to see more of these tactics in the video game world. I've got a bad feeling the secret will be out by then though.

Well, I guess it is possible and the thought gets me all worked up. But I just can't see this having been kept a secret for so long now.

On one hand, you have the fact that the Halo 2 playable at E3 this year looked very, very polished and the game has been in development for nearly two years now.

On the other, you have the fact that this game would be the most pre-ordered title ever and I don't think Microsoft would have passed on that chance.

Here's what I think: Xbox will officially drop $30 in price to $150 and Halo will hit the Platinum Hits lineup for $20. And the catch? The Platinum Hits version of Halo will include a playable Halo 2 demo disc.

Now that would be dubious marketing: Get people to dole out another $20 for a game they most likely already own to play a demo. Hey, it worked for Konami by putting a MGS2 demo in with Zone of the Enders.

I've been hearing alot of good stuff about Beyond Good & Evil recently. There's a demo out apparently, I wanna check it out since I hear it's a bit like Zelda mixed with Anachronox (a great, great game that was woefully underrated).

Beyond that every game on that list, cept for Counterstrike, is potential awesomeness. I'm especially waiting for Deus Ex 2 since I loved the original so much.

The November 15th date has got my curiosity up also. I live on the back doorstep of MS campus based in Redmond Wa. & get to here some of the local chatter from employees there. Like most big employers, MS has a "Rumor Mill" that generates a lot of speculation on things to come.
Re: Nov 15, two MS locals indicate its a price cut, & hint @ a price cut combined w/new bundle [as opposed to current Clone/Tetris bundle].

My target date of Xmas for 'Box purchase will be moved up to Nov 15th if either of the above happens.
Xbox will be irresistible gaming for $150, w/or w/o games. [fingers crossed].

Well, there's a lot that's been up with me lately. Right now I'm in the process of finding a new job. Hopefully by the end of this week I will have that locked down.

Been playing on Live as usual. Rainbow Six 3 is hella cool and I'd recommend it to anyone with Live.

I have True Crime and am not overly impressed with it. To me, it's slightly better than average, but nothing more. However, ask Tappy Tibbons, and he'll tell you differently. We've posted some of our thoughts on the Xbox forum. The Grand Theft Auto games have a lot more personality and "life" to them than True Crime does. They are different in their approach to gameplay (True Crime being more mission oriented and more linear than GTA), but True Crime isn't as deep as GTA, in my opinion.

Sometime late last year, a magazine in Japan reported that Nintendo was supposed to make a big earth shaking announcement. They labeled it the Megaton announcement that would shake up gaming forever. What it ended up being was a rather mediocre game based on one of the manga's the magazine published called Naruto. That's what I meant by Megaton.

But anyway, back on topic here..I haven't heard nearly as much about SOCOM II being cheatfilled as I have about the original. But at least this time they're actively pursuing the cheaters instead of just letting em run wild. Still, considering that it's played on an open network it's pretty impressive that they've managed to squash cheaters as much as they have...hopefully when the PS2 gets the harddrive it'll become a thing of the past, their online games need patches if they wanna keep up with the cheats.

I'm more mature than people like Gadfly.Besides the first SOCOM had mass cheat codes.What makes you think SOCOM II wouldnt? I'm trying to find the post that someone made around here that stated that many imbeciles has tried to get online with cheat codes were banned from playing SOCOM II online unless they didnt use them at all.

Just simply put in the codes manually.Its not that hard you know.Especially with certain games like Twisted Metal Black Online.Cheat codes doesnt always have to come from Gamesharks,Game Genies, or Action Replay.
