skate is one of the best games I've played this gen, and definitely the best extreme sport game I've ever played. Part two it taking it up a notch. One very large notch. This will be the definitive skateboarding game. even the re-invention of the Tony Hawk series will have nothing on this game, if it isn't still totally dead in the water.

Do you think EA will put out a demo of Skate 2?
I've been trying to get into skateboarding games for the longest, but they either make my fingers hurt from constantly having to hit 10 buttons per second, or the controls were frustrating as I thought they were in Skate 1.
If Skate 2 is close to what I'm looking for in one of these type of games (good controls, open world to either do missions or skate around and do stunts and stuff for a few minutes), then...I dunno.

LOL
i figure that if you weren't a fan of the control in skate 1, then this one won't change your mind. If anything, it's gonna be more complex than what skate was, because of the addition of so many more moves. What made it frustrating for you?
It's strange, skate. Like viva Pinata, I've played the game so much, and yet I only have a couple of achievement points for it. At least in VP I'm halfway through, in skate I have I think only sixty GP.

I think that the fact that I couldn't do a lot of the moves in the tutorial frustrated me. The controls just seem like I could play the game back and forth for months or years compared to Tony Hawk, but some of the moves I just couldn't pull off.
I thought about picking up TH Proving Grounds earlier in the year when it was $14.99 new for 360. They were out of stock, which proved to be a good thing for my fingers.

I downloaded and played the demo of Skate again. I got past the tutorial, which was easier this time for some weird reason. The first few times I tried the demo, I couldn't even jump onto this cement slab. This time, it only took me 4 tries.
How were the missions in the full version? Were they similar to Tony Hawk's missions? There were two in the demo, one that had me following a skater and doing nothing but nollies (I failed, then deleted the demo). The other one had me doing three different types in front of a cameraman.

most of the missions that i've done(I don't think I've done much, measly sixty gamerpoints that I have for this game proving that fact) are of me doing runs that have certain requirements, like do three kick-flips, grind 500 feet, and land a nollie, all in one run. i think most are also timed. There are also missions where you have to do certain trick combos in different parts of the city. Those are what kicked my arse.

I noticed the game is coming out in 2009. I thought it would show up next month, or something.
I wouldn't mind at least one skate boarding game that I can hop on from time to time. I'll keep an eye on it.

If you have any questions about skate. i would know ive beat the game 3 times and landed some crazy tricks. The reason skate is a great game is because of its controls. Yes there very very tough but when u finally land that new trick its a great feeling. The controls are very rewarding depending on how much time you spend. Now im landing frontflip 900's and crazy back to back 1080's off the mega ramp. If you really put the time into skate i can almost promise you will love it! You should keep playing the demo for skate 1 or go pick up the first game because all the new controls on top of the stuff your having trouble with will just be way to much to handle and you will get mad at the game. have any questions just ask
