Help me decide

Now that it looks like console games are taking over, I've decided to take the plunge and purchase a console gaming system. I'm thinking either WII or Xbox 360. But I can't seem to find any kind of comparison of the two. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight into this and could help steer me in the right direction. What I'm wondering is which system has the most games available and will most likely still be supported in 5 years.

360 for teen age and up, shooters and graphics if you have HD..

Wii for inovative gaming, kid friendly and cost saving

or just get both as its worth it

360 has more and better games for "traditional" gamers.

Wii has less games which are suitable for "casual" gamers.

Do not expect the 360 to be supported in five years. Heck, don't expect your 360 to last five years, it will die in 1-2 years, practically guaranteed.
The Wii should still have games cranking out in that time and it should still be in working order for your grandchildren if you take care of it.


My advice: if you must choose get the Wii. While the 360 has the way better gaming experience in my book, be careful because the hardware is shoddy and will probably break within a year or two, if not sooner. The wii has mroe reliability and is likely to be supported with a lot of shovelware but there aren't much in the way of compelling game experiences on it. However you sound like a newcomer to gaming and are not the type to be into the games the 360, I'm thinking the wii is a better fit for you.

Xbox 360

Only 1. PS3

Some detail into the types of games you like would be helpful.

I would personally recommend a PS3 as well but that wasn't part of the choices. And yeah, without knowing what type of games kaschke likes we can't reallly give an intelligent recommendation.

BTW Tashi a new Casshern anime is coming out this season. Are you watching?
