Well, this site is boring as usual, so how's about we share our musical tastes with each other?
Here are the rules:
1. Videos must come from YouTube (per the name of the thread, yo)
2. You must embed your musical video of choice into your post.
3. Provide a link to the page as well.
Here's my first posting:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gxA3ydyZFrE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gxA3ydyZFrE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Trilok Gurtu Band Live at Sines 2007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxA3ydyZFrE&feature=related)
Trilok is by far my favorite percussionist, and musician all-together. I don't know why, but to me this sounds more badass than most "heavy" music I hear today.
Okay, so I shared. Now you.

This is nowhere near as badass as your posting, but it holds a special place in my heart (well, kinda). During my time in Tokyo this song was playing EVERYWHERE. And it turns out that the song is actually pretty good. It's J-Pop so it's pretty cheesy, but hey I like it. I consider it the theme song of my summer.

Dude Cuddly that first video is one of the coolest things I've seen! Mesmerizing.
Mochan was that the credits to some show? Anime maybe? That's what it looked like to me. Did Namie Amuro sing that?
Mochan

Hah not Amuro but its one of the most popular songs right now, its from Macross Frontier sung by May'n aka Sheryl Nome. The smurf and I are talking madly about it in the anime thread. Macross F is currently burning the charts in Japan right now, its the most successful anime OST ever.
I'll post more stuff later I can't due YouTube on this crumby iPod.

Whoa Cuddly that first one was really spunky, LOL. It was all synth-like and all but the animation was awesome.
That second percussionist sort of amped me up so I felt like posting another Victor Wooten "zomgwtfbbq" vid.

I'm going to break the rules in order to share some of my own music. Just starting up a new project and this is a live, practice recording from a couple weeks ago. Didn't try to intentionally do a blues/rock sounding band but that's how it came together when adding the current four members' spin on things but that's the beauty of creating music. Anyway we're digging the sound/vibe we've got going so we're going to stick with it.
I threw this site up just today in order to share. It's not permanent by any stretch so no need to send friend requests or anything like that.
www.myspace.com/fiveski
As far as what I've been listening to lately, just chick my new signature pic that interfaces with my Zune card (functions similar to an XBOX gamercard). Lots and lots of the Police. Actually I'm learning Murder by Numbers and Walking on the Moon as covers for the band. Also working on I Will Follow/U2, Under the Milky Way/The Church, Dream Police/Cheap Trick, Suspicious Minds/Elvis, You've Got to Hide Your Love Away/The Beatles, Wrap it Up/Fabulous Thunderbirds & Runnin' Down a Dream/Tom Petty.
We'd prefer to be all original but the sad reality of the Milwaukee music scene is that you have to play covers in order to make any money, gather any attention, or hold an audience. I wish this music scene were more receptive to creative, original music but that's not the case. And as a result few venues support bands w/all originals. There are some, but we're getting older and have been there/done that so it's time to not only get out, have fun, and play some gigs but it's also time to compliment that with enough income from the gig to pay our gas and keep our intruments running (new strings, new drum heads, etc..). Oh and we want people to have fun when watching us. And that's my long story about why we're doing covers rather than just all original.
So that's what I've been listening to. Sorry to deviate from the rules.

It's all good, Five. To add a little to what you said, yesterday, Myspace deleted my bands Myspace page in the music section. No warnings, nothing, just emptiness where our site used to be. They could've at least given us a warning or offered us the otion to change our site name or something.
Back on topic, you guys like the Super Mario Bros themes that was in the tenor solo?

Awesome stuff.
ilnadmy - can't say I'm too into the J-pop scene, but to each their own. I do kind of like a song by High and Mighty Color, if you've ever heard of them.
Mochan - Awesome. Totally had no idea you were a Vic Wooten fan. I've seen him live both with his own band and the Flecktones probably at least five times. One of my favorite bass players, to be sure. In that second vid you posted the guitar player is Victor's brother, Reggie.
Drunken - dig the Kill Bill tune, not so much with the Tupac. Never been a big rap fan, but some of it can be pretty funky.
Cuddly - You are impressing the hell out of me, what can I say? That Animusic vid is pretty effing sweet - I actually caught a PBS (of all places) show that had an hour of this stuff. I do dig the prog flavored tunes.
Fiveski - I'll have to wait until I'm home from work to check your band's tunes out. You're one of the specific people I had in mind when I started this thread, so I am excited to see what you're posting.
So, anyway, here's my next post:

Evanescence - Good Enough
Definitely not indy, but one of the few, I mean very few music artists I still listen to (I probably don't listen to more than 4 or 5 artists total). This is probably the only non-rock/alternative song on the disc, but I picked the video because I never seen it before today.

No Jaco fans?
Jaco Pastorius and band playing Donna Lee, one of my favorite tunes from that era. Hope you got good speakers.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/t_th70UYbLg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/t_th70UYbLg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Another Donna Lee take, only modernized by GRP All-Stars, with some most-excellent Marimba playing. In high School, I used to tear some ass at Marimba, only I never got good enough to play with 4 mallets, only three(two with my right hand, my left hand is stupid).
The song starts 1:00 in.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/doaMg5c8Xig&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/doaMg5c8Xig&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Some excellent musicians in that GRP group. Alex Acuna, Dave Weckle, Eddie Daniels, John Patittucci, Arturo Sandoval, Gary Burton, Ernie Watts. These are dudes that I grew up listening to, early in my musical life.
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Milk Lizard
Be warned - this song doesn't really reflect what the rest of their music sounds like, and that's very chaotic math metal.

Here's a song from a band called iwrestledabearonce. Yes, it's all one word, and yes, the growls are coming from the little girl in the glasses. The name of the song is Tastes like Kevin Bacon.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZrFTR9fucr8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZrFTR9fucr8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Here's another from them, called Ulrich Firelord: Breaker of Mountains. Props to the Inspector Gadget throwback at the end, for those of you who actually listen to the whole song. I figure the first song probably scared most away. I really like this band. Anyopne else like this, then check out Genghis Tron.

If you want something on the more ambient side of things, check out this dude. His name is Steve Roach, and I've read numerous high-profile reviews where he is compared to classical geniuses from back when. Warning - extreme ambience. Listen on good speakers, and with twenty minutes to spare.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/auzejbKL8hI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/auzejbKL8hI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I somehow missed this thread for months. There is some really cool stuff in here. I especially liked Iwrestledabearonce. Their blend of thrash and melody is pretty unusual.
The percussionists CK posted made me think of this guy Moe! Staiano. He's local, and I've never seen another percussion performer quite like him (the only Youtube clips I could find of him solo weren't his best stuff.) There's also a longer musical piece he did as "Moekestra" called "Death of a Piano" which ends some great sledgehammer/piano percussion. He used to play with Sleepytime Gorilla Museum a lot, and also guest performed with the music gods Nurse With Wound when they played a two night show here in SF (their only live performance in 20 years, and one of the greatest musical experiences of my life.)
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Jm0LUSXvSxw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Jm0LUSXvSxw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
"The Death of a Piano" noise-orchestra piece is a lot of fun. I really love this sort of thing:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NUOuP3oQio4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NUOuP3oQio4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
And here's a couple clips from a band I've been listening to a lot lately. Mogwai, a Scottish band that are primarily instrumental, and they are both the quietist and the loudest band I've ever heard. Seems weird I've been listening to them for almost a decade. They still feel like a "new" band to me that I just discovered. I have no idea why. Maybe its because I keep liking them more and more over time. Mogwai has always seemed to me to be what Coldplay and Sigor Ros only wish they could be (and I actually like Sigor Ros a lot). Mogwai is a top five live-show experience for sure, but I couldn't find any live clips that did them justice.

Of the four clips I posted, the first one by Mogwai is the shortest, and its the song where they dredged up this rare Iggy Pop interview and sampled it. The guy is not reading off a teleprompter like everyone today does, it's a raw unscripted response to a question; he spontaneously said this stuff (and appeared to be fried out of his mind) but if you really listen to it, it rivals the greatest speeches ever given in the english language, and I'm counting Lincoln and MLK in there too.
