Have any of you guys heard the rumor that the next DS is going to have both screens with touch capability? If it pans out that way, what do you think? The screens are also supposed to be larger. Can you think of any gameplay applications for dual-touch beyond being able to manipulate menu/item and data access on the top screen? I think this would be great for RTS games too by being able touch unit icons on a top-screen map and have the bottom screen instantly relocate to that section of the battlefield.

This is just complete day dreaming right now about the next DS of course, with no actual announced details. But I'm ready for a new DS soon. Are any of you? What feautres would you like to see in the next DS?

A few things I would like to see:

PsP-level graphical capabilities and screen quality
full b/c to DS games
better sound
built-in browser
GPS capabilities
tilt-sensor built in
built-in or removable memory slot for downloads and other content
built-in camera

Basically, looking at some of my wishlist, its for the thing to integrate some iphone-like features (I don't own an iphone, but have nothing against i the way I do the Ipod. . .which stll refuses to give uses an FM tuner, featured in most MP3 players.)

Anyone else have any thoughts on what they'd want in a DS2? Do you feel its time?

A memory slot would be nice. SD, whatever. So would motion sensing like the Wiimote. Other stuff like PSP power(or more, a girl can dream) and a bigger storage medium for games will allow for better sound and graphics.

With a new DS, I'd like to see them take out the dual screen and give us a new kind of control config for games. Or a single touch screen that's bigger for more room to touch.

Better build quality. I.E. no more cracked hinges or dead pixels, yo.

Removable memory is a pipe-dream, although I would love some onboard memory in the neighborhood of 10+ gigs. Plus some media capabilities, like MP3/AAC playing and Quicktime video capabilities.

Bigger, brighter screens. I guess having two touch screens would be good, but I'd prefer a better D-pad and tougher shoulder buttons. Maybe even analog sticks.

OH, and better WiFi. As in higher speeds. Plus more power. Like, GC level power. And built in GPS which can work with games. And motion controls, sure whatever. Plus, surround-sound headphone support.
