Your Top 3 Demos

That's right you read it. After playing MGS4 I was starting to think about the game that got me into the series. That game came in demo form as I'd not even heard of the series before MGS2. Seeing as a demo was the start of my interest to one of my franchises I started thinking we should list our top 3 demo's that made us get a game, even if the game ended up turning up being crap.

3. Company of Heros - Came in as a demo for PC gamer. Wasn't planning on buying it but had read about it. After playing I knew it was one of them best RTS games that I had ever played. The game didn't dissapoint either.

2. Hitman 2 Demo. I forgot how I got this. I think it came in magazine as well. Man this demo was one whole level and it was very fun. The game would end up being just as good. Never got any of the other games after Hitman 2 but I'm sure there just as good.

1. Metal Gear Solid 2. WHOA. I was fortunate to even try this out. I was extremely hyped about a game called Zone of the Enders at the time. It was my freshman year of highschool, football season has finished and I was in my Gundam anime prime. So when I saw the gameplay of Zone of the Enders in video and such I just had to get it. Little did I know that when you bouht ZOE a little demo came with it called MGS2. The guy at the store asked me if I was getting the game so I could play MGS2. I stared at him with a blank face not even knowing what the game was. I put the demo in first when I got home just to see what it was all about. After the jumping from the bridge to the boat scene I swear I was an instant convert. To this day I think the demo was better than the actual game (the demo only went to the Olga part of the Tanker mission).

So what do you guys think?

1. I.Q[ps1] - Great puzzler. I played this demo more than what I've played many games all the way through.

2. Crackdown[360] - After playing the demo, it was instant buy for me. I never had so much mindless fun in a game.

3. MGS2 - Like you I bought Zone of Enders because the game looked cool, but I was treated to something special by having the MGS2 demo included. I had loved every minute of MGS, and was blown away by how mch more advanced MGS2 looked like. Must've been the rain on Snake's shoulders.

Some honorable mentions include Amped 3, Dead Rising, ZOE2, COD2, and Otogi 2.

[Rogue Bounty Hunter]

1) Jade Empire - This was an OXM demo, back when they were getting the good stuff. I forgot how long or short this was, but it was long enough to let me know that I can never enjoy Japanese turn-based combat in RPGs ever again.

2) Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 - This is currently on the PS Store for the PSP. It's significant because after playing this, I went and picked up the PS3 version of Hot Shots Golf. I've been wanting to get into a golf game, but Tiger Woods PGA games are too frustrating and the Wii Golf isn't as fun as the other Wii Sports games.

3) God of War - Great demo. A long one too.

Crappy mentions - Dead Rising, Lost Planet, NCAA Football 07, Jericho, Iron Man
