Halloween weekend

I usually setup a co-op every halloween for various games last year we played systen shock 2 co-op well me and aku anyways.Had a few others that said they were up for it but never showed.halloween is months away but i have decided on a game for this year.Ive decided on DOOM 3 with the added co-op mod which got really good reviews and it seems to be alot of fun.anyone whos interested between now and halloween sign up here it will start the weekend before halloween and will finish up halloween weekend.

cool as time goes on ill direct u to the mod download and all that.im in the process of rebuying doom 3 myself as i lost it when i moved.come to think of it i never stay one place very long cant even begin to count how many games ive lost.I dont think we need the expansion to play the mod but we have plenty of time to sort through all that.Im pretty sure aku will be game as well that guys hardcore hell play anything anytime lol.DBS im sure will play to if hes not to busy guess he has a pretty busy life now with 6 kids and all but lets hope.Im shooting to get 6 guys atleast

I am totally all for this. I would love to play Doom 3 co-op. I played through the entire Doom 1 and Doom 2 co-op with my friends on modem! That was ridiculously fun and I think Doom 3 would be awesome as well.

But I do not have a real copy can we get this running on Hamachi or something? Or if I am lucky I should be able to find a copy of it somewhere around here, usually old games get these weird rebundle releases over here that come in a white DVD case and look really cheap but they are actually legit and have a working serial.

Would be also great to play Doom 3 with all the juice turned up including super AA to make all the fences look really nice. I believe there is also a mod for Doom 3 that enables normal mapping (I think the type of mapping started with a "P") and it looks great.

Let's also be sure to put in some kind of difficulty mod because with 6 or so guys a high level of difficulty would be more fun I think.

well we got 4 1/2 months yet will get everyone a copy somehow.ya no doubt on the difficulty its deffinetly going to have to be ramped up.i think how it works is once you die your dead for the rest of the level so there isnt some stupid respawn thing u actually have to wait to play again once the level is completed.with 6 guys we might beable to complete it in a night.I seem to remember me beating doom 3 in 2 nights or about 12 hours with 6 guys even with high difficulty it could probably be done in half that time.I do not know the format yet but i do know for sure i wanna beat the game.we just need to all be on the same page with the mods we use so we dont have problems on game night.im thinking the week before we do this we should all meet some night and make sure everyone gets in game i dont feel like having issues last minute it would ruin everything

Oh and I remember now there is a Parallax Mapping mod for Doom 3. Makes the game look extra gorgeous. I probably still have it burned to a CD somewhere here along with the Doom 1 TC mod. I still need to acquire the Co-Op mod.

Im going to order doom 3 within the next few weeks along with the ressurection of evil expansion pack.Im going to give the mod a test run next month maybe just play through a level see how everything works.so if anyone wants to test it out with me let me know

just downloaded the mod and its great it supports 8 people not 6 like i thought so will have to play in nightmare difficulty.going to look around for some graphical mods like mochan pointed out.ill have links and a list for all mods so everyones on the same page

wow mochan that Parallax Mapping mod really makes doom 3 surfaces look alot sharper and not as flat.it almost feels like a new game

Yeah the Parallax Mod is like night and day, we definitely need it. I don't know about any other mods out for it but the game should look terrific with the Parallax Mod and Ultra High with Transparency AA set to the max, I'm sure all our PCs can handle it.

well i noticed F.E.A.R. has a co-op to whoever is seriously considering joining we can take a vote on whether to do doom 3 or F.E.A.R. i have both i also have both the expansions that go along with F.E.A.R.So whatever u guys want let me know

Ok guys over the next several weeks ill be postinng the co-op mod and whatever else mod we decide on.As mochan pointed out the graphics mod is worth a go to.Over the next week or so ill install doom 3 and decide on mods so anyone who doesnt have it yet and wants to join should go ahead and pick it up
