Introduction : Aegis is a huge fantasy world where players assume the role of leaders and strive to better their province through battle, magic, and politics. It has been one of the better MMORPGS I have come across in recent times. Being an online game it provide it is easy to access which is always a plus, and it does not need a high end PC to run which is a change in the ever modifying world of PC Games. Originally created by a group of programmers collectively known as Mek it was based in server off Gibraltar. It was recently transfered to Demiosis Gaming to further its capabilities on a more widescale market range.
Gameplay : Elements of tactics and strategy are the mainstay of Aegis, it provides a friendly fantasy environment where individuals may embark on a number of different options, which obviously contribute to how individuals play the game! These options are both peaceful based where diplomacy and building are the key, and more war based where building and alliances are seen as the key. The result of this has been a very community based environment seen lacking in many online games , as a result most individuals who play the game stay on for a long time which one can consider to be a great achievement. The game is generally easy to follow but caters to a more advance audience as well. It does not have a 3D environment and is text-based which can be a turnoff for individuals
Features: The buildings are both fantasy and usual strategy game based , examples such as the Construction Yards and Markets. A wide array of buildings allows for a very strategic based game where no one province is really similar to another. War and expansion play a equally important role and the choice of basic and special troops make for interesting play. These feature ultimately add to the very real aspect of diplomacy which can be seen in real life conflicts and therefore adds a realistic factor not present in other games.
Aeshtetics : The interface is generally easy to manoeuver and easy to use a mix of graphics and structure allows for the eyes to be pleased which contributes greatly to this game.
Overall : This game deserves a 9/10 since it has been timeless , many people have come and gone yet the community continues to thrive after almost four years. Its that which enables one to conclude that this game is not only one to experience, but one that can stand the test of us fickle gaming lovers, who after a few months move onto something new!
