This Wi-Fi connector is a oiece of sh*t. It will work one time, then the next I get one of those 51040 errors. The only thing that should interfere is the firewall, which is down. It's like the stars and planets have to be aligned just right for this buggy piece of crap to work. So what routers do some of you guys use? I want to pick one up.

Eh, my remote access service in Vista was disabled, it's working now. It's always something.

I use a Linksys and it works wonderfully with the Wii. Model WRT100.

The wi-fi connector is pretty crappy. You have to have your firewall down for it to work, and I've had to reboot my pc before when it wouldn't connect. I'll look at some routers this weekend. Not a big rush, it does work....some of the time.

I had bad experiences with that as well. Used one a year or so ago with my DS before I had a wireless router. Recently upgraded routers to one of the more expensive Linksys and I find that the wireless range has increased significantly as has the strength of signal. It's not optimal with my PS3 however although I could tweak settings and such but haven't done so just yet (have the PS3 hard wired).

I have the wireless DSL modem (ActionTec) that came standard with our DSL service and it works well enough. Doesn't have the most powerful signal or range, but I rarely have issues with the Wii WiFi that aren't issues on their end of things (like the whole SSBB network issues that have plagued the game upon release).

Mario Kart Wii works like a dream for me online.

Aku, I would recommend a D-Link or NetGear router instead of a Linksys. I have a Linksys and it has been very finnicky. I did some research turns out DLink or Netgear are more reliable, and comparing my experience with my friend and uncle who have DLink, I'd say DLink is better. Technical personnel I know who do networking for a living also recommend DLink or Netgear over Linksys.

Around here it's the exact opposite Mochan (experts recommend Linksys more often than not). I upgraded from a Netgear after having problem after problem with it. Never used a D-Link so I can't comment on that brand.

Correction from my prior post - my Linksys is a WRT110 (not 100 as I stated previously).
